Chapter 1539

Chapter 1539

“It’s nothing big, just a small shop,” Xavier said nonchalantly. He was seated opposite a woman and

couldn’t smoke, which made him feel a little antsy.

Just as he was trying to find an excuse to leave, his gaze suddenly hardened on a girl walking

towards him.

Norah pretended not to know Xavier and sat down next to them. A waitress came over. She ordered a

hot chocolate and a large cream pineapple bread.

Xavier turned to look at her, staring at Norah’s profile.

Norah deliberately turned her head to look outside the railing.

“Mr. Hanson?” Daisy called out to him quietly.

“Hmm?” Xavier turned back, “Anything else?”

Daisy smiled, “Where is your BBQ shop? I love BBQ. Can I come and try it?”

“It’s near the Movie Center,” Xavier replied.

Before he could finish, a call came in on his phone. He excused himself to Daisy, nodded apologetically

and got up to take the call on the side.

Once he left, Daisy relaxed. She leaned back in her chair, her eyes darting around as if she was

wrestling with something.

Her phone next to her lit up with a WhatsApp message. She glanced at it and replied with a voice

message, “Lily!”

It seemed like the other person was asking about her blind date.

“I’m kinda bummed,” Daisy said disappointedly. “My mom said he’s loaded, but he doesn’t look like it.

He just owns a BBQ shop, and it’s really small. Plus, his clothes are so basic. It’s not a single designer

label. I swear my relative conned my mom!”

She stirred her coffee on the table and continued with a touch of disappointment, “I even borrowed your

9th Mansion membership card ‘cause I was worried I wasn’t high–class enough. Now I’m worried he

won’t be able to foot the bill. That’d be so embarrassing!”

The other person asked, “What does he look like?”

Daisy took a quick glance, “He’s pretty good–looking and has a nice body. If he wasn’t so easy on the

eyes, I would have left already!”

Xavier’s physical appearance did make her heart flutter. He was nearly six feet tall. He was fit and

handsome. Even his stubble seemed somewhat sexy.

Just then, the waitress came over with a seafood soup. Daisy happened to reach for a fruit and the

waitress couldn’t avoid it in time, spilling a few drops of soup on Daisy’s sleeve.

Daisy immediately stood up, wiping her sleeve with a napkin. She snapped, “Are you blind? Do you

know how expensive this dress is?” novelbin

The waitress quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry! Did I burn you?”

Daisy ended the call and checked her dress. Her face was full of regret and disappointment, “Just my

luck! A blind date with a broke guy and now ruining my dress!”

The waitress hurriedly said, “Why don’t you change your dress? I’ll send this one to the dry cleaners.”

“My dress can’t be dry cleaned!” Daisy said angrily, “Your seafood soup is fishy as it is. Now I can’t

wear my dress anymore. You have to compensate me!”

The waitress was taken aback, “How much?”

“When I bought this dress, it cost me 6,800 dollars. I won’t make a fuss, just give me 6,500 dollars,”

Daisy said coldly.

The waitress knew that all the guests at the 9th Mansion were rich or nobles, and 6,500 dollars for a

dress was considered cheap to them. But she really couldn’t afford it.

“Please change your dress, I’ll personally clean it for you,” the waitress pleaded. “I really don’t have

that much money.”

“You don’t even have 6,000 dollars? Who would believe that?” Daisy said with a mocking expression.

“Pay up now, or I’m going to tell your manager!”
