Chapter 1538

Chapter 1538

Norah braided Kya’s hair on the balcony sofa, even weaving a tiny daisy into the braid.

Once Kya’s hair was done, she stood by the railing for Norah to take a picture.

There was a retro black wrought–iron railing with a long spider plant hanging from a rosewood flower

stand beside it. Kya, in her grass–green dress and flower braid, was leaning against the railing,

beaming with an innocent smile.

The sun had set, but the sky wasn’t entirely dark yet. The sunset glow bathed Kya’s face, making her

childlike charm even warmer.

Norah quickly captured the moment, giving Kya a thumbs–up, “You’re awesome, Kya. Can’t wait toshow this to your mom.”

Henson came over to check out the picture, and then the three of them took turns taking more photos,

having a blast.

As dusk set in, a waiter wheeled in a cart full of food, and Charlie came over to pick up Kya for dinner.

Upon seeing the photo Norah had taken, he immediately whipped out his phone, “Send me Kya’snovelbin

picture.”

“Sure thing!” Norah added Charlie on WhatsApp and sent him all of Kya’s pictures.

Charlie liked the photos more and more, deciding to set one as his phone’s screensaver.

As Norah was getting ready to head back to the dining hall, she glanced out the window and suddenly

paused, walking over to the railing to look down.

Their suite was on the 19th floor, and on the 12th floor was a terrace full of flowers and plants, like a

sky garden.

At that moment, Xavier sat at a table on the terrace. His figure was partially obscured by the plants,

and the lighting was dim, but Norah recognized him instantly. Sitting opposite him was a woman in a

floral dress..

Norah stared at Xavier’s profile, feeling a little nervous. Did he have a girlfriend?

“Norah, come and eat!” Estelle called to her.

Norah returned to reality, picked up her bag, and said to Estelle, “I’ve got something to take care of.

You guys go ahead, don’t wait for me.” Jonathan and Henson both turned to look at her. Henson

asked, “Where are you off to this late?”

“I bumped into a classmate, just going to say hi.” With that, Norah hurried out the door.

Jonathan held Estelle’s hand, “Let her go. I’ll call her later.”

The terrace was lush with greenery, and black iron lamps were hidden among the plants, creating a

classical and romantic atmosphere. Couples sat together, eating steak, savoring wine, and whispering

sweet nothings; the ambiance was peaceful and romantic.

Xavier had come home earlier to hear from Mr. Hanson that an old friend had returned from abroad. Mr.

Hanson was feeling unwell and asked Xavier to meet him. Only when he arrived did he realize it was a

blind date arranged by Mr. Hanson and Cora Hanson.

The woman across from him was Daisy, Cora’s cousin’s daughter.

Daisy had just returned from studying abroad and seemed quite reserved. After glancing at him, she

lowered her head and said nothing. This was Xavier’s first blind date, and he felt impatient. But seeing

the girl’s frail demeanor, he was worried about hurting her pride. So, he decided to stick around a little

longer before leaving.

“I heard you started your own business in the restaurant industry, right?” Daisy asked gently.

Xavier, wearing a grey shirt with rolled–up sleeves, looked very casual. “I wouldn’t say I started a

business. I just opened a barbecue joint.”

A barbecue joint?

That was not what Daisy was expecting. She tentatively asked, “Is your barbecue joint a chain? It must

be quite large, right?”
