Chapter 1486

Leonie brought the two to meet Terrence and Elizabeth, who were busy chatting with their guests. On

seeing Estelle, Terrence looked a bit surprised but quickly put on a friendly smile, "Estelle, you're here

too?"

Leonie responded bluntly, "Estelle is part of our Macclain family, of course she's here!"

Some guests turned to Sallie and said with a smile, "Isn't this Stanley's daughter? I've seen her on TV,

she's very excellent!"

"Terrence's granddaughters are all so amazing!"

"All talented and beautiful!" novelbin

"Sallie will definitely not be any worse than Miss Carmella!"

Hearing the praises for Sallie mixing with compliments for Carmella, Leonie managed to squeeze a

smile onto her face, awkwardly playing along.

One of the guests then asked Estelle, "Are you also a granddaughter of Terrence? Which side of the

family are you from, I've never seen you before."

"She's from our family!" Simone suddenly appeared, smiling as she spoke.

Carmella's hand clenched in surprise as she looked at Simone.

Estelle also glanced at Simone in surprise, and Leonie chuckled beside her, "Oh, finally ready to

acknowledge your own daughter in public today, are you?"

But Simone quickly changed her tune, addressing the curious guest, "She's the girl Bennett and I

adopted. Originally an orphan from the mountain area, her parents passed away early. Seeing her all

alone, we decided to sponsor her education. When she got into the University of J City, we began to

treat her as our own."

Carmella let out a silent sigh of relief, barely hiding a smile at the corners of her mouth.

Leonie almost burst into laughter, sarcastically saying, "I really overestimated her!"

Estelle's eyes were cold and there was no fluctuation in her expression. The guests showed surprise at

the news, praising in unison, "Mr. and Mrs. Macclain are so kind, not only sponsoring a poor student

through university, but also adopting her as a daughter!"

"No wonder their own daughter is so outstanding, good deeds do come back to you!"

"Absolutely amazing!"

A female guest turned to Estelle, sizing her up, "You're a lucky girl, you should be grateful to Mrs. and

Mr. Macclain!"

Leonie smirked at Simone, "Estelle should indeed be grateful to you. You neglect your own daughter to

raise this adopted one, not even sparing a glance at your own child. What a noble heart you have, even

God would be moved by your kindness!"

Simone, obviously hearing the sarcasm in Leonie's words, turned her head away in disdain.

Sallie, shaking with anger, wanted to speak up for Estelle but a stern look from Terrence stopped her.

He didn't agree with Simone's words either, but with all the guests present and praises pouring in, he

had no choice but to play along. Above all, the Macclain family couldn't afford to lose face.

Estelle took Sallie's hand, "Let's go!"

Leonie also said angrily, "Let's go!"

Leonie led them away as the guests continued to whisper, "I feel like this girl isn't really close with Mrs.

Macclain."

"Yeah, she seems ungrateful. Mrs. Macclain wasted money on her for nothing."

"There are so many ungrateful people in this world, doing good deeds doesn't always pay off!"

Hearing the ladies' gossip, Simone didn't clarify anything. In fact, she felt a sense of pleasure, as if her

disrespect towards Estelle had been avenged!

Carmella felt extremely satisfied, glancing at Estelle's retreating figure. She couldn't help but rejoice.

Now that Simone had publicly declared Estelle as an adopted child, there was no turning back!

In the Macclain family, Estelle would never be able to compete with her again. She had finally and

completely defeated Estelle!
