Chapter 1431

The chess match was heating up, and a showdown between the two sides was about to break out.

Suddenly, Estelle's phone started buzzing on the side. Jonathan furrowed his brows, about to switch

the phone to silent mode, when Estelle suddenly came to. She was still a bit groggy, reaching out to

grab her phone.

Estelle, leaning against Jonathan's leg, unlocked her phone to see a message from Sallie.

"Estelle, did you catch the TV show yesterday? Amber and I bagged first place."

Next was a laughing emoji.

Estelle, clear-eyed, responded with a smile, "Congrats."

She'd been taking care of Mr. Jarvis these past few days and had forgotten to watch Sallie's show, but

it seemed like the results were to Sallie's liking.

Sallie replied, "Mr. Gellar is amazing. Everyone online is talking about his hand-embroidered roses.

Have you seen it? He made it to trending topics first thing in the morning."

Estelle had already expected this.

Mr. Gellar had a unique embroidery style. Each rose in his hand-embroidered piece took two days to

create, each one different and lifelike, a sight to behold. No one else in the country had such a skill.

She knew that as long as Mr. Gellar appeared on the show, it would stir up a buzz.

Estelle opened Twitter, and sure enough, Mr. Gellar's name was still on the trending topics list with

comments full of praise.

There were also a few comments supporting Carmella.

[Anyone else think Carmella's designs were stunning? My eyes lit up when I saw them!]

[Yes, I loved the outfit Carmella designed for Heather Vang. I hope they release a knockoff soon, novelbin

because I'd definitely buy it. Her designs are perfect for everyday wear!]

[I think Sallie only won because of Mr. Gellar's influence. Without his hand-embroidered roses,

Carmella's designs would've won.]

[Yeah, I feel the same way!]

Estelle flipped through the comments without much thought, then continued scrolling through the rest.

By then, the chess match between Jonathan and Mr. Jarvis had ended. "I'm going to rest a bit. Why

don't you take Estelle out for a walk? Otherwise, she'll just fall asleep out of boredom," Mr. Jarvis

suggested.

Estelle stretched lazily, smiling and saying, "Sounds good. We can bring back some desserts for Mr.

Jarvis."

"Off you go!" Mr. Jarvis waved them off. "Just be back before dinner."

"Got it!" Estelle hopped off the bed, took Jonathan's hand, and headed out.

Once they left the Jarvis house, they strolled down the tree-lined path. Jonathan, holding Estelle's

hand, spoke softly, "During the chess game, I mentioned to Mr. Jarvis about going to J City, but he

refused."

Estelle kicked at a stone on the path and said, "I knew it would be like that. The old chap is too

stubborn!"

"It's understandable that Mr. Jarvis doesn't want to leave a place he's familiar with," Jonathan

whispered. "From now on, we can visit him more often."

"Mhmm!" Estelle nodded.

They continued their walk and soon arrived at their usual dessert shop.

Estelle stopped in her tracks, turning to look at the dessert shop.

Jonathan knew that Estelle had been having a rough couple of days, and he wanted to cheer her up.

"Hold on, I'll get you something to eat," he said.

"I'll get it myself!" Estelle replied with a smile. She let go of Jonathan's hand and headed towards the

dessert shop.

There weren't many customers in the dessert shop, so it was Estelle's turn soon. "I'll have a small

chocolate ice cream and some lemon juice, please."

The cashier took her order and then said in a sweet voice, "Please wait a moment; it'll be ready soon."

A nearby employee eyed Estelle; after a few glances confirming her identity, she approached Estelle

and said, "Ms. McClain, we meet again!"

Estelle was a bit taken aback. "Do we know each other?"

"You've visited our shop before and bought desserts. Your boyfriend came with you." The girl said with

a smile, "You may not remember me, but I remember you!"
