Chapter 1419

Chapter 1419

"Where's my grandpa?" Estelle's face turned ashen.

"Don't fret; your grandpa's okay for now." Wade attempted to soothe her, then led her to the backyard.

Entering Mr. Jarvis's room, Estelle quickly made her way to his bedside. Seeing him pale and lying still,

semi-conscious, was heart-wrenching.

"Grandpa!" Estelle sat down next to him, her voice quivering.

Dr. Ollie came in and said, "She’s back!"

Looking horrified, Estelle asked, "What's wrong with my grandpa? Should we rush him to the hospital?"

Dr. Ollie explained, "Your grandpa's condition is due to his chronic illness. He's always had a strong

aversion to hospitals, and considering his current state, moving him could make things worse."

"What exactly is wrong with him?" Estelle asked, furrowing her brows.

"It's his heart, and the lack of blood supply to his brain caused him to faint," Dr. Ollie explained. "I've

given him medication and injections. If he wakes up tonight, everything should be fine."

"And if he doesn't?"

Dr. Ollie paused, then said solemnly, "I'll make sure he wakes up."

Holding Mr. Jarvis's hand tightly, Estelle struggled to keep her fears at bay. "Grandpa, I'm back now;

can you wake up soon?"

J City, the Lamont Group

It was already seven, and the conference room was still lit.

Today, Jonathan had been in meetings all day, as if he were trying to cram a month’s worth of project

planning into a single day.

Two department heads got chewed out for being unable to keep pace with Jonathan, leaving everyone

else on edge.

After two hours of meetings, Chuck glanced at Jonathan's grim expression and felt uneasy. His gut told

him something was off with his boss today.

Jonathan was staring at the project proposal in his hands, while on the screen next to him, the deputy

head of the planning department was presenting his market research findings.

Yet all Jonathan could think about was last night. The dim hallway, Estelle's cold gaze piercing his heart

like a knife.

The sky outside was about to darken. Jonathan looked up at the window and felt a sense of unease he

couldn't put into words.

What was Estelle doing?

Was she sitting alone on the balcony again?

A wave of unspeakable pain surged in Jonathan's heart. He suddenly stood up, put down the proposal,

and addressed the deputy head, "That's a wrap for today; you guys can call it a day."

With that, he strode out of the room, his back looking somewhat flustered.

No one in the conference room dared to move.

Jonathan drove himself, speeding all the way back to Bright Commercial Center, just like the day he

chased after Estelle.novelbin

He went straight to Estelle's house, but the lights were off, and Estelle was nowhere to be seen on the

balcony.

His anxiety grew. He called Emily, who told him Estelle wasn't downstairs.

Jonathan gripped his phone tightly, his fingertips turning white. He quickly moved toward the bedroom.

The computer she usually used for designing was gone, and so were her medications.
