Chapter 1254

Chapter 1254

The seafood soup needed to simmer, a bit longer, so several people decided to eat first.

Charlie sat Kya next to him and served her some beef, “This is Jonathan’s cooking, give it a try.”

Kya blew on it a bit, took a bite, and nodded vigorously, “Yummy!”

She turned to Charlie and asked, “Can you cook?”

Caught off guard, Charlie didn’t want to shatter his invincible image in Kya’s eyes and chuckled, “Of

course, I’ll cook for you next time, promise it’ll be even better than this!”

Estelle gave a sly smile and said, “don’t lie to children. You must do it if you have promised!”

Charlie responded, “If only I could learn from Jonathan. Cooking is not that difficult!”

Emily quickly stepped in, “Kya was just asking casually, Mr. James, you don’t have to take it seriously.”novelbin

She then turned to Jonathan, “Mr. Lamont, have you always lived here? You can join us for dinner like

Estelle does.”

“Sure, thanks!” Jonathan replied with a soft smile.

“Hold on!” Charlie’s eyes narrowed. He asked Jonathan, “Where do you live?”

Emily giggled, “Mr. Lamont is Estelle’s neighbor now, living right across from her.”

Charlie looked at him in astonishment, then burst into laughter, “When did this happen?”

“Just moved in a couple of days ago,” Jonathan said casually.

“You’re amazing!” Charlie was thoroughly impressed, then joked, “If I were you, I’d marry her on the

spot!”

Jonathan put his arm around Estelle’s shoulder and grinned, “She’s already my wife!”

Charlie said, “I’m really devastated today!” He raised his glass and smiled. “Well, now that you two are

back together, I won’t have to look at Jonathan’s face all day. Come on, let’s have a toast!” Several

people raised their glasses at the same time, and Kya raised her feeding bottle. Charlie held her in his

lap and clinked her bottle with his glass, “Cheers!”

They chatted while eating, the mood was relaxed. In that moment, everyone had an illusion they were

back in the days at the Royal Mansion, where they would often gather and chat.

Two years have passed, things seemed to change and yet remain the same.

After dinner, Emily cleared the table and carried the dishes to the kitchen..

Estelle offered to help, but Jonathan stopped her and said to Charlie, “Now it’s your turn!”

Charlie snorted, “Why me again?”

“Don’t talk nonsense and hurry up!” Jonathan dragged Estelle back into the living room and dumped

the rest of the chores on Charlie. Charlie grumbled about Jonathan for being a womanizer and ditching

his buddy just after winning his wife back!

He went to the kitchen with the dishes. Emily tried to take them, but he dodged, “Let me do it. I may not

have learned to cook to chase a woman, but washing dishes shouldn’t be a problem.”

“Let me do it!” Emily insisted.

Charlie smiled, “You’re not my maid, you don’t have to take on everything. Not everything should be

your responsibility.”

Without thinking, Emily retorted, “I’m not a maid, I’m the host. Since when does a host let the guest

wash dishes after dinner?”

Charlie’s face fell a bit, he looked at her expressionlessly, “So, am I the only guest here?”

Emily was taken aback.

Charlie didn’t look at her anymore. He put the dishes in the sink, took the dishcloth, and began to wash

them.
