Chapter 956

After Holden was taken away, the room fell into an eerie silence, with only Eric's voice echoing in the

air.

"What good is it for you to get those files? Without me, you can't do squat."

"That's why I need your help. If you cooperate, I'll let them live. Didn't you once wish for her early

release?"

His question was met with silence.

The room felt even more oppressive.novelbin

After a long while, Eric let out a deep sigh.

But his sigh was like a stone sinking into the ocean.

Ian's men had been searching for Holden all night but to no avail.

He guessed that his grandpa might have gone willingly with those people. Otherwise, how could there

be no trace left?

He had been in that position for so long. How could he not be alert?

Then, his butler called.

"Sir, we found some bloody handkerchiefs in Holden's trash can. It seems his health has not improved."

A sharp glint flashed in Ian's eyes, his voice soft but authoritative.

"How could you guys not know about his health? Hasn't the doctor been checking on him?"

"Holden has been taking his medication obediently, but the doctor has not disclosed his condition to us.

And he seemed spirited all the time, and we thought his health was improving."

Ian rubbed his temples.

After hanging up, he stared into the distance.

With Grandpa's body so weak, who could possibly take him away at this point?

A thought flashed through his mind, so he immediately called Fitch.

"You said my brother is still alive. Was that true?"

"The fingerprints are recent, and there are no two identical fingerprints in the world."

"Do you think it's possible that my brother took my grandpa away?"

Holden's disappearance not only involved the Raymond family but also the people higher up.

Hearing this, Fitch became cautious, his brows furrowed.

"Ian, I must remind you if Eric was taken away for some research abroad, we have no idea which side

he's on now. If he uses his identity to take Holden away and turns out to be against us,"

Fitch didn't finish his sentence, but Ian understood.

If Eric was the enemy, then Holden may be in danger.

His face turned icy in an instant.

"Have you found any clues about what my brother left behind?"

"No, we've investigated all possible women, but none of them had any connection with Eric. I'm starting

to doubt our initial speculation, whether such a woman exists or someone is deliberately leading us on.

Ian, can you recall, did Eric ever give you anything?"

While Ian and Eric's relationship wasn't bad, they weren't exactly as close as brothers either.

Eric did give him some items.

"What do you mean?"

"You might have missed something, and there might be something hidden in one of the gifts he gave

you that you didn't notice."

Fitch had mentioned that Eric may also be looking for that document.

To negotiate with him, they had to find that document.

Ian grabbed Maja's wrist tightly, "Come with me to the old house."

Maja had always known he had a brother named Eric, but she didn't know what he looked like.

Seeing his grim expression, she didn't dare to ask too much, feeling worried for Grandpa Holden.

At this time, the pet hospital called to update her about Coco's condition.

Basically, Coco was recovering steadily.

Maja let out a sigh of relief.

"I see. Thank you, doctor. As long as it's recovering, give it the best treatment. I'll transfer the fees."

Ian gripped the steering wheel tightly, a flicker in his eyes as he heard her concern for Coco.

He was very curious, who was the person that Maja once liked?

His grip tightened, and his deep eyes seemed to hide a dark world, inscrutable.

Maja didn't notice his mood change, and it was still half an hour's drive to the old house. She just

asked.

"Did you get along with your brother?"
