Chapter 948

Zoey was all set to hit the road, not a clue in the world.

But when her eyes landed on a car not far away, she froze stiff.

The car bore a striking resemblance to one she knew.

She furrowed her brows and rolled down her window to get a better look, but the car had already

vanished.

She was unsure if it was a figment of her imagination. There's no way that guy would come to the

hospital to see her.

She rolled up her window and quietly drove back to the office.

As soon as Maja exited her car, she spotted another car parked in front of her. Omar got out, didn't

even bat an eye at her, and stormed into the building.

A chill flashed in her eyes, but she didn't tell security to stop him.

Omar clearly hadn't found anyone in the river, so he hoped Cornelia might've sneaked back.

Cornelia had been a workaholic lately. Maybe she was in the Star Movie group right now, deliberately

keeping it from him just to wind him up.

But he searched the top floor and found no sign of her.

The employees at Star Movie group stared at him like he was a madman.

When Maja stepped off the top-floor elevator, the people from the top floor immediately swarmed her.

"Mr. Pennyfeather, a loony just barged in."

"Don't mind him."

She said nonchalantly and walked into her office.

As she sat down, the door was kicked open with a bang.

Omar kicked the door open and stormed in.

"Maja, did you hide Cornelia?"

Maja found it amusing, slowly putting down the file in her hands.

"Mr. Omar, shouldn't you be asking your sister what she's been up to? She took Cornelia's place to

study abroad, leaving Cornelia's family high and dry, and you had the nerve to play with her feelings.

Your sister went on to hire someone to kill her parents; now Alma has ordered someone to kill Cornelia,

and you're out looking for her. Do you think Cornelia would want to be found by you? Even if she sunk

to the bottom of the river and were eaten clean by fish and shrimp, she wouldn't want anyone from the

Casson family to tarnish her life again."

Her tone was casual, but every word felt like a sharp knife, making Omar take a step back.

Maja stood up and slowly walked towards him.

"Now that she's gone, don't you find it revolting pretending to care so deeply? What were you doing

when your sister stole her place? You were indulging it! You watched as your sister killed her parents

and brazenly provoked Cornelia. Only after she died did you started acting like a madman, don't you

find that laughable? Cornelia was just unfortunate to get mixed up with the Casson family. Now that

she's gone, everything was over."

"Damn it, Maja."

"Smack!" Maja gave Omar a sharp slap, leaving him dazed for several seconds.

"She's dead, and it's all your fault. You dare to come and ask for her? I should be the one asking you

for her! She finally got a new life, and I went through a lot of trouble to get her a chance to act. Do you

know how hard it was for her to get back on her feet? I had to get a doctor to treat her hand. You're the

one who caused all this, and you dare to question me. Don't you feel disgusted?"

This cunning man, Omar, was left speechless for once, feeling pain all over his body.

He opened his mouth, but tears began to fall heavily.

Maja laughed, mocking him mercilessly.

"For some reason, I find watching you cry even more disgusting. Please leave my company."

With that, she turned around and sat back in her office chair.

Omar stood there, suddenly clutching his chest in pain, his face turned pale, and then he collapsed on

the floor.

He was obviously hit hard and passed out.

Maja frowned, feeling even more annoyed, and immediately called two bodyguards.

"Get him out of here."

The bodyguards thought she meant to throw him off the roof and quickly tried to talk her out of it, "Mr.

Pennyfeather, we're in a law-abiding society. We're all trying to get by here."

Maja was in a bad mood sitting in her chair but burst into laughter at the bodyguards' words.

She found the two bodyguards quite naive. If she really asked them to throw someone off the roof, they

might actually do it.

"You've got it all wrong. I want you to take him to the first floor, kick him out of the company."

"Oh, okay, mission accepted."novelbin

The people upstairs had no idea who Omar was, let alone what he had done, but seeing Maja so

angry, they all figured this man must've done something terrible.

They all trusted Maja unconditionally, even the new employees.

Even though Star Movie Group was still growing and maybe had a tough road ahead, this company

was bound to stand out in the future. No private news related to Maja had ever been leaked.

All the employees chose to keep every secret here, and it was an unspoken agreement.
