Chapter 947

Alma gasped for breath, struggling to break free from his grip. For a moment, she thought she was

going to choke to death.

Her face turned beet-red, eyes bulging out as if they were about to pop out of her sockets.

Omar gripped her tightly, then suddenly pushed her into the water.

The river was shallow, and Alma landed butt-first in it, soaking wet.novelbin

She looked at Omar in disbelief, as if she didn't know him.

After a few minutes, she clumsily backed away, only to fall into deeper water.

She was terrified, frantically trying to grasp something, almost suffocating.

Omar didn't look at her and he just kept watching the boats combing the river.

Alma struggled back to the riverbank, her eyes red. She was back to her arrogant self.

"Bro! Are you out of your mind? You almost choked me to death. What the hell were you doing?"

She was crying, clumsily wiping away her tears.

Omar was pushed back a step by her.

She crumbled to the ground and started sobbing as if she'd been wronged.

"Are you mad at me because of a skank?! How will you explain to Mom, you said you'd protect me

forever!"

Alma's crying was almost a scream.

Omar didn't say anything. He was in pain, too, his chest felt like it was being cut open, and his hands

were shaking uncontrollably.

"Bro, I killed Cornelia's parents before, and you didn't say anything. Now, because of Zoey, you're

throwing such a fit. Are you thinking of ditching Cornelia for Zoey?!"

"Shut up."

When Omar spoke, his voice was calm, and he just kept staring at the river.

Alma continued to complain, but her voice was much quieter.

Two hours later, the rescue team came to update.

"Ms. Cornelia may have been dragged to the bottom of the river by something, or she may have been

washed away somewhere else. This river is too wide and deep. The person who disappeared last year

hasn't been found yet, probably eaten by the river's fish and shrimp."

Alma, who had been crying, stopped when she heard Cornelia was dead.

She immediately stopped crying and stood up.

"That skank just had bad luck! She deserved it. Who told her to mess with me?"

The rescue team looked at Alma with mixed feelings, then at Omar.

"Let the people who retrieve bodies handle this, and we need to go back."

Omar's people were also searching the river, with no news.

His mind was in chaos, so much so that he didn't even get angry at the rescue team.

Alma obediently hooked his arm.

"So it was her who died. You must be a bit touched, being with her for so long. Cornelia probably

dreamed of becoming my sister-in-law. Does she even deserve it? With her low IQ, she was just a

plaything in your hands."

"Smack!"

The sound of a slap echoed, her head turned to one side, feeling the swelling on the half of her face

that had been hit.

What she cared most about right now was her image, so she immediately tried to grab Omar.

Omar told his bodyguard, "Take her home, don't let her out without my order."

Alma asked in shock, "Bro, are you trying to restrict my freedom?"

Omar ignored her and sat down.

The grass had been soaked by the river, and his pants were wet again after sitting down. But he

seemed not to care, and he was just waiting for a result.

In the distance, Maja put away her binoculars and told the driver, "Let's go to the hospital to pick up

Zoey now."

She had seen the quarrel between Omar and Alma through the binoculars. Even though she didn't

know what they were arguing about, she knew Omar cared about Cornelia, and Alma depended on her

brother. Now that the two of them had internal conflicts, no one had the energy to deal with her.

Her eyes were cold as she went to the hospital and brought Zoey into the car.

Zoey had been brought here last night and checked by a doctor. She was fine and had just completed

the discharge procedures.

The two looked at each other in the car.

Zoey asked first, "When will Cornelia leave the country?"

"Early this morning."

"Alma was like a madwoman. She won't do anything else, will she?"

"She's a madwoman, and her brother was even madder. Omar can't find Zoey now. He already had

Alma taken back, and he won't let her out for a while. And Alma borrowed Omar's men last night. It's as

if Omar killed Cornelia. Omar can't do anything but desperately search for her."

The best way to deal with a mad dog was to make him fully experience the pain.

Only after he's hurt will he understand what he's lost.
