Chapter 812

Chapter 812

On the way back to the city, that car finally disappeared from sight.

Maja heaved a sigh of relief, thinking she might be overly paranoid.

Someone like lan would not waste his time tailing her.

Back at Star Movie Group, she immediately sent a message to Wilma to meet up.

But Wilma was constantly busy and even a bit peeved about the rumors about her and Elvis. They

finally managed to find a time to meet, and the location was a bar.

It wasn’t BlueSky Bar.

Wilma, currently a rising star, wasn’t high–profile enough to get into a sophisticated place like BlueSky

Bar.

Maja shot back a message.

[Alright, I’ll swing by the private room you mentioned around eight.]

After sorting things out with Wilma, Maja received a call from the Raymond family.

Selena’s diagnosis was out; she was indeed in a vegetative state.

But surprisingly, the Raymond family only informed her about it without demanding any apology or

compensation.

She knew it had nothing to do with her; it was all Connie’s doing, but there was no response from the

Raymond family?

She found it strange but thought cutting ties with the Raymonds was a blessing in disguise!

Why did she fret about it?

lan had been working like a dog for the past few days since he sold 10% of his shares, even pulling an

all–nighter at Crystalbrook Valley.

The share issue was a big deal, and there was no hiding it from his grandfather.

So he was summoned to the old mansion as soon as he got back to Greenfield.

The family punishment was inevitable; he was prepared.

Sure enough, the moment he stepped through the doors of Raymond Mansion, his grandpa, Holden

Raymond, was already brandishing a whip.

lan naturally took off his jacket and knelt down.

Holden was so angry that his chest hurt; he gave lan fifty lashes.

“lan, are you trying to be the death of me?”

There was no sign of pain on lan’s face, and after a while he looked up and asked, “Grandpa, what

should I do then? I want to win Maja back, but she doesn’t like!

me.”

Holden was at a loss for words, thinking he got what he deserved!

Setting the whip down, he took a seat on the couch nearby.

lan remained kneeling, his back still bleeding.

His grandpa wasn’t really heartless; he was actually hurting while punishing him.

After a while, he sighed. novelbin

“Maja used to have someone she was really fond of; I heard from Herbert once, and I didn’t think much

of it at the time; I just thought it was young people fooling around. But knowing her stubborn

personality, if she lets Herbert know about that person, she must really like him.”

Holden paused here; it was a bit improper to ask the next question.

“Have you guys ever really tried for a baby?”

This was essentially asking whether they had been intimate?

But the question was too direct, so he sugarcoated it a bit.

lan stiffened all over, then nodded awkwardly.

“See, you treat her so well, but she doesn’t acknowledge you. I guess she still likes the person she

used to be. You know, a girl’s mind is as complex as a poem. With her personality, she could like

someone for a long time.”

She’s a stubborn one.

“No way!”

lan felt a pang of panic and even jealousy.

In his eyes, Maja liking Samuel, Shawn, or Beck, it was all fine. After all, she didn’t know them for long,

and he didn’t see any special feelings she had for them.

But if she had a man hidden deep in her heart and never let anyone else know,

What would that mean?

It would mean that their intimate relationship meant nothing to her.

She had someone else she liked the most!

So he believed that was impossible; Maja should like him.

“Believe it or not, I just heard a comment from Herbert and didn’t think much of it.”

In that moment, lan felt the lashes on his back were nothing compared to the pain in his heart.

He suddenly remembered that Maja’s ex–husband was him, so who gave her that ring?

He didn’t know who Maja’s husband was at the time and assumed the wedding ring was from her

husband.

After all, she cherished that ring so much that she even had a fight with him over it.

Thinking back now, something felt off; that must have been from another man.

Even knowing he was her husband, she fought with him over a gift from another man. His face turned

pale instantly,
