Chapter 1778

Dylan was doing everything in his power to divert attention to Rachel's location, setting up aroadblock to prevent Ian from being taken to the penitentiary.

But as he was halfway through giving orders, a crease formed between his brows.

If he were Bernard, would he actually send the real Ian away? The answer was yes.

Only by doing so could he ensure the success of his subsequent plan.

The Ian that Rachel was escorting was the real deal. If Dylan were to hijack the transport, he wouldinfuriate the upper echelons of Windhelm.

These people had just managed to oust Bernard from his position and were on the cusp of seeingIan behind bars. Now, Dylan's interference would seem like nothing but troublemaking in their eyes.

It wouldn't be long before Dylan found himself the target of a manhunt by this faction. Realizing this,he immediately scrapped the plan to ambush Rachel's vehicle and instead sought out Maja'swhereabouts.

Learning that Maja wasn't at Greenfield Gardens set off alarms for Dylan. It became clear thatBernard's coveted vessel might very well be Maja herself.

Lowering his lashes, Dylan promptly reached out to the Sanders family's connections in Windhelm, some of whom held significant positions in high places.

As the heir to the Sander family, Dylan conveyed his concerns.

Now, the sole princess of the Sanders family faced a dire threat, pregnant with a child. Regardlessof Ian's guilt, the innocent, expecting Maja was at risk.

Should Maja suffer harm at the hands of Bernard or, as it were, his political adversaries, theSanders family would not hesitate to turn the matter into an international scandal.

The Sanders family currently owned the largest entertainment industry around the globe, theirpowerful influence evident. Besides, every year, their blockbuster IPs raked in staggering profits, and they had become a wonderland in the hearts of children worldwide.

A public declaration of tragedy befalling their daughter in Windhelm would spell a reputation crisisfor the nation. If a country couldn't protect its investors, others would think twice before bringing intheir capital.

An emergency meeting was convened among Windhelm's higher-ups, as Dylan's perspective wasshared.

"Maja is missing, and Dylan suspects Bernard's involvement. If the unborn child is lost, the Sandersfamily will not back down quietly."

"But Bernard has been stripped of his position; it makes no sense for him to do this."novelbin

"Retiring safely is the best exit for someone in his shoes - why would he seek trouble?"

"Yet Dylan insists, and he has already rallied international media as the Sanders heir."

Everyone knew that Dylan was forcing the hand of the higher-ups, putting the entire Sanders familyon the line.

The meeting room buzzed with heated debate, as opinions clashed. Meanwhile, Dylan sat inGreenfield Gardens, awaiting the outcome of their deliberations.

He couldn't be sure if his actions would safeguard Maja, but doing nothing would certainly leave herfate ignored by these people.

The arguments dragged intensely on for two hours, with neither side yielding. The meeting was tocontinue into the evening.

The moment Dylan heard this, his frown deepened. Any further delay, and he feared for Maja'ssafety.

He promptly contacted Augus, instructing him to hold a press conference immediately. The Sandersfamily could wait no longer; they needed to make it clear that they were willing to risk everything forMaja's safety!

Augus, still in recovery, did not hesitate to use the Sanders' resources to alert all the media. AsNorth America's premier family, the Sanders had never held such a grand press event. The mediabuzzed with speculation over the unfolding drama.
