Chapter 1605

Ian recognized the voice instantly. It was the guy in the uniform who had shown up in the lobby that

day.

He was supposed to be at a conference in North America, but given the surveillance all over the

research base, Ian knew it was only a matter of time before the chaos was discovered. He just didn't

expect it to happen so soon.

Ian's mind raced. With a swift motion, he shoved open the door trapping the beasts inside. The

creatures stumbled out with heavy steps.

Walter stood by, asking, "Is there any point to all this mayhem? It seems like that eerie bell sound just

snaps everyone out of it. These folks must've been hypnotized because the moment they hear thatnovelbin

bell, no matter what they're doing, they come to their senses immediately."

"It's useful. These beasts have been tamed. Once they're out, they'll just desperately try to flee. They

only dare to attack someone who's thrown into their cage. When they encounter someone outside, they

get scared. And when they're scared, they go berserk. We've got to use this time to find Dylan."

Dylan and Walter had arrived at the base on the same day, but there had been no sign of him since.

Ian was getting worried. If Dylan wasn't among the lower-level staff, then he had to be among the test

subjects. And if he had been taken for an experiment, could he possibly have survived?

As the beasts were released, the scene unfolded just as Ian had predicted. They howled and rammed

into everything, frantically searching for an escape.

The researchers, who had calmed down, were thrown into disarray once again as the creatures

knocked over machinery and shattered vials.

Ian and Walter had already searched three different areas, including checking the test subjects in the

glass tanks, but there was still no sign of Dylan. Where else could he be?

Ian looked around before his heart gave a slow, sinking throb. He started heading back the way they

came. Walter had no choice but to follow.

They made their way back to the central hall, where Ian approached the most secluded of the test

chambers, which was hidden behind Subject 8. Since Subject No. 8 was extraordinarily vicious, no one

dared get close, and so the chamber behind it was also neglected.

Inside the large glass tank, a man was suspended, his clothes gone, except for a pair of shorts that

barely preserved his modesty.

There was also a woman seated in a chair. Her nails were long, stained with blood. Her hair just

brushed her shoulders, framing what would have been a sweet, innocent face.

She indeed looked meek; at least at first glance, people would think she was like a student. But the

moment Ian and Walter stood outside the glass tank, the "innocent" woman bared her teeth and

charged at them.

She couldn't break through the tank, so she simply glared out at the two men, her face twisted in

ferocity and fiendishness.

The man hung motionless, his head drooping, unresponsive. But Walter knew him too well. It was

Dylan.

"Dammit! Dylan!" Walter cursed, his attention drawn to a nearby machine monitoring the cage. The

screen flashed with a series of data entries:

October 1st, mating failed.

October 2nd, mating failed.

October 3rd, mating failed.

Walter's lips twitched violently, and after a few seconds of stunned silence, he turned to Ian.

"How do we open this tank?"

Clearly, neither of them had anticipated that Dylan would be subjected to such indescribable

humiliation.
