Chapter 1264

Why on earth did Lillian marry Neil back in the day? Given her social status, she shouldn't have

mingled with ordinary folk like him. But it seemed they'd known each other since childhood, and Lillian's

family still resided in Crystalbrook Valley, where her uncle lived.

Though all her uncle's family had passed away.

It struck her hard. With her uncle's family gone, who in the world could vouch for Lillian's existence

now?

She felt a chill creeping up her spine at the thought, but the man continued to remind her.

"You're the heir she chose, the future leader of BK. And I'm just the current holder of power in BK. Until

you take over, I'm responsible for you, regardless of your future status or who you love. I can interfere

as of now, that's the rule of BK. Maja, if you follow the path Lillian has planned for you, you'll gain a lot.

But before that, you'll lose a lot too."

Maja's hand was still gripping the iron rod, but her grip had softened.

The sound of Patric's footsteps echoed outside, followed by the door being pushed open.

Hearing the noise earlier, Patric knew Maja had been hitting the wall with her hand.

"Maja, what are you up to?"

He stood at the doorway, switching on the light inside.

Seeing Maja standing by the window, blending with the night in silence, he noticed the blood stains on

the wall and felt annoyed.

He knew that Maja wouldn't talk now, so he approached her.

"I've decided to get engaged to you next month. I'll announce the news tomorrow. I'll cure the poison

Dylan gave you. You should know that there's nothing in the lab that I'm not aware of."

As he moved closer, the empty look in her eyes irritated him more.

It must be Eric's influence on him, he needed to find a way to completely get rid of Eric.

"As long as you behave."

After saying this, he reached out to touch her neck, but she seemed to sense it and quickly turned her

head to dodge.

His hand brushed through air and he slowly withdrew it.

"By that time, Ian will also know about our engagement. You and he will have no chance by then. Even

if I can't become the president of the Raymond Corporation, I'll break his heart. The more Ian pretends

not to care, the more he cares, just like a child."

Having received some of Eric's childhood memories, Patric understood Ian better.

He gave Maja a deep look before heading out, turning off the light as he left.

"You'd better behave. I wouldn't want to install surveillance here where you sleep."

After he left, Maja gently tapped the armchair beside her, making sure the man in her earpiece could

hear.

She was sending Morse code.

"Is Lillian really still alive?"

"Yes, Maja, she loves you. That's why she's protected you so well over the years. Otherwise, your

uncle's family would have died earlier. Also, Lillian herself is a very powerful hypnotist."

How powerful?

Maja had never encountered any of this, it all felt strange.

Simultaneously, it felt like a massive net was pressing down on her.

Her past life seemed to have cracked open, everything felt so unreal.

As her mind processed this information, she tapped her fingers again.

"Then why must I leave Ian?"

Now it was the man's turn to be silent.

He remained silent for a few moments before he softly said.

"You and him, it won't work out. It's not about the Raymond family, it's about... Never mind, you won't

understand even if I tell you now. The truth you want to know, only you can uncover it."

"What if I really can't let go of Ian?"

"Do you have the ability to be with him now? Maja, with your temperament, if he really gave up

everything in Greenfield for you, would you be at ease?"

She wouldn't.

That was exactly why she hadn't resisted till now.

Lowering her eyelashes, she had made up her mind.

The man also fell silent.

The maid at Greenfield Gardens knocked on the study door, intending to inform Ian that all the cleaning

had been done and asking where he wanted to dispose of the items.

All the items belonged to Maja. They didn't dare to make the decision to throw them away on their own.

But after knocking once, there was no response from inside.

The maid was about to knock again when the door opened, and Ian was standing there.

"Sir, all the items have been packed up. Shall we dispose of them now?"

Ian wanted to nod.

Maja didn't care about him. Why should he keep her stuff?novelbin

Throw them away, all of them.

But he couldn't utter the words. It felt like his heart was being squeezed.

He stood there for a while before finally closing his eyes in resignation.

"Just put them back for now."

The maid didn't dare to ask why and quickly instructed the others to put the items back.

Even Maja's toothbrush was placed neatly in the bathroom. They hadn't dared to move it at all.

The sound of a car echoed at the entrance of Greenfield Gardens. It was Jeff bringing Jolin back.
