Chapter 1226

A smirk of disdain was etched deep into Patrick's eyes. This was where Ian fell short compared to him.

At least he wouldn't lose his sense of reasoning over Maja's disappearance.

He quietly perused the files in his hand, only to be interrupted by the call of Steve from the side.

"Eric, Eric?"

Startled, he returned to his senses and responded with a soft smile.

"Yes, Dad. What is it?"

"You'll need to take on extra responsibilities in the company for a while. I don't think Ian will be returning

to work anytime soon."

"I'm his older brother. It's only right for me to share his burdens."

Steve patted his shoulder with a satisfied expression on his face. However, Patrick's mind was already

elsewhere, lost in thought.

Who could have taken Maja and for what purpose?

At the hospital.

The lights in the emergency room finally dimmed and the doctor emerged, wheeling Judith out.

"She's out of immediate danger, but Ms. Sanders is extremely weak. She needs meticulous care from

now on."

Dylan exhaled a sigh of relief, leaning against the wall. Only then did he feel the warmth returning to his

stiff limbs.

"Okay, I understand."

Then he followed the doctor into Judith's room.

When Dylan saw Judith's pale face, her eyes swollen from crying, a pang of discomfort gnawed at his

heart.

His lips tightened, a flash of coldness passing through his eyes.

His phone began to ring. A shaky male voice came through, one of his subordinates.

"Mr. Sanders, Ian has razed the mansion to the ground."

Intolerable!

Dylan's grip on his phone tightened and his breath became ragged.

"Tell the men searching for Maja. If they find her, dispose of her on the spot. Don't let Ian find even her

bones."

The man on the phone shivered at the order.

"Mr. Sanders, are you sure?"

Dylan had never resorted to such actions before. But this time, Ian had crossed his line.

"Yes, also, get the Greenfield side to prepare. We're going to hit the Raymond Corporation's business

hard. Even if we don't bring them down, we'll make sure to take a chunk out of them."

"Understood, Mr. Sanders."

Just as Dylan ended the call, the hospital room door was pushed open. Beck walked in.

"Dylan, are you really going to fight Ian to the end?"

This would only lead to mutual destruction. And their parents in North America were still in the dark

about everything.

Dylan placed his phone down and looked at Judith lying on the bed.

"Judith almost died, but Maja only disappeared."

Beck was at a loss for words. On one hand, he felt Judith deserved it. Why would she kidnap Maja for

no reason? Ian would definitely go mad seeing so much blood on the steps.

But on the other hand, Judith was his sister. Regardless of her mistakes, it didn't give Ian the right to

humiliate the Sanders family.

So now he was torn.

Dylan stood by the window, his expression icy, "Whether it's Ian or Maja, they must pay for this."

"Dylan, what did Maja do wrong?"

Dylan sensed his younger brother's protective stance towards Maja, and his eyes hardened.

"As long as she's Maja, as long as she's the cause of Judith's condition, she doesn't deserve to live."

Beck felt uncomfortable. He remembered Maja's words about Dylan's feelings for Judith being

inappropriate.

"Dylan, Judith is our sister. You don't have any extra feelings for her, right?"

Dylan stiffened as if he couldn't believe what he just heard.

"Beck, what have you learned out there? Judith grew up with us. It's natural for me to care about her.

She's our only sister! Don't apply your twisted ideas of relationships on us. I care for her because of our

blood ties."

He was just overly protective of his sister, nothing more.

Beck exhaled in relief. That's good.

"Dylan, you can't go after Maja. We're not in the right here. Even if you want to settle scores with Ian,

it's understandable. But now, no one knows whether Maja is dead or alive."

"Then it's better if she's dead."

Dylan's tone was ruthless, "In this world, the lives of outsiders will never be more important than thosenovelbin

of my family."
