Chapter 1208

He stepped up to her, noticing the majestic figure of Rocky sprawled across her canvas.

His heart eased a bit, taking a casual seat beside her.

"What brings you here today?"

Maja's brush paused in amusement but she said nothing, continuing her painting.

Seeing her silent, Ian took out a cigarette, fumbling with his lighter, intending to smoke.

He used to avoid smoking in front of Maja. His smoking habit was infrequent, but lately, it had grown

stronger.

It felt as if nicotine was the only relief for his emotions.

"Don't smoke indoors."

Ian glanced her way, his tone a bit icy.

"Oh, did I upset you? Right, the person you like probably doesn't smoke."

Her brush halted again, realizing he had probably drunk himself into oblivion last night and forgotten his

proposition for them to live together.

Although Ian spoke provocatively, he never lit the cigarette.

Tossing it into the trash, he grabbed a nearby book to read, not noticing he was holding it upside down.

"Ms. Pennyfeather, not busy today? You're here so early. You're not trying to get me to give up my

position as CEO of the Raymond Corporation, are you?"

Like the rest of the Raymond family, they hoped he would give everything to Eric.

Maja studied his feigned indifference and put her brush down.

"Someone got drunk at the BlueSky Bar last night and insisted on living together. I agreed."

Ian dropped the book, looking at her in disbelief.novelbin

Maja, however, had already pulled him up to show him her painting.

"It's a good likeness, isn't it? Rocky doesn't look like a dog at all."

"Who told you Rocky was a dog?"

"Then what is he?"

"A wolf."

They smoothly transitioned past the previous topic, their intimacy returning in an instant.

Maja's eyes sparkled, tugging on his sleeve.

"Really? Rocky's a wolf? Why does he let you keep him? I always thought he seemed too majestic, far

more imposing than Coco."

Ian's tightly pressed lips turned into a light smile.

"I've had Rocky since he was little. He was always in North America. I thought about giving him to you

as a gift, so I had him shipped over."

"Why didn't you say anything?"

What was there to say? He thought she might not like it.

Maja grabbed his hand, leading him outside to Greenfield Gardens. Spotting Coco trying to win over

Rocky, she burst into laughter.

Animals have keen senses. Coco probably knew Rocky was a different species, hence the constant tail

wagging.

Rocky always maintained a cool demeanor, but he accepted the adoration from Coco.

Maja ruffled Rocky's fur, her eyes full of excitement.

She had touched a real wolf, a rare white wolf.

Her great joy tugged at Ian's heartstrings.

When he had gifted something to the Raymond family before, they never bothered to open it.

When he gave Rocky to Maja, he was prepared for him to be ignored.

But now, her excitement was clear.

Suddenly, Maja threw her arms around his neck.

"Rocky is so handsome, so pretty! I've been treating him like a dog. How unfair to him."

Ian stiffened, taken aback.

When he recovered, he slowly wrapped his arms around her, a smile creeping onto his face.

"I'm glad you like him."

"I love him! So much!"

Maja pecked his cheek a couple of times, let go of his neck, and ran off with Rocky close behind.

Ian stood frozen in place, feeling as if he had been struck by lightning.

He slowly reached up to touch the spot where she had kissed him. The morning sun was blinding,

making him feel dizzy.
