Chapter 1132

Watching any footage with Maja in it now, he could feel a faint throbbing in his cheeks.

His phone buzzed at that moment. It was a text from an unknown number.

[Is Maja pregnant?]

That message ignited Ian's temper instantly. Without hesitation, he dialed the number. The call was

answered but no one spoke.novelbin

Ian's Adam's apple bobbed, and he was suddenly at a loss for words. After a long silence, he finally

asked, "Where are you?"

A soft laugh echoed from the other end, then the call ended.

Ian's fist collided with the table next to him. He dialed again, ordering his men to locate Patric

immediately.

Annoyed, he ripped off his tie and slumped back into his chair.

The live broadcast of the ceremony was nearing its end. He stood up, grabbing his suit jacket, and left

the Raymond Corporation without a second thought.

When he arrived at the BlueSky Bar, he ran into Phelps.

It was rare to encounter this man, as Phelps was always busy.

But today, with Fitch and Tyler absent, Phelps joined him for a drink.

Halfway through their drinks, he asked, "Did you and Maja really break up? The rumors are all about

you and Judith now."

Ian leaned back, the five-fingered mark on his cheek more prominent than ever.

"We broke up."

"How did it happen?"

Ian rubbed his cheek, trying to stay sober. But the more he tried, the quicker he got drunk.

"How does it usually happen? One person just stops liking the other."

"Did you stop liking her?"

Phelps thought Maja liked Ian. So, did that mean it was Ian who stopped liking Maja?

"No way!"

"Ian, when your bet with the EcoTraverse Group was exposed, Maja was very worried. And I heard she

lost a child because of you, is that true?"

Ian's fingers stiffened around his glass, "That child was my fault. I didn't protect her."

He took another sip, his eyes swimming with intoxication.

"Her concern for you seemed genuine. Why do you think she doesn't like you?"

Ian lowered his gaze, staring at the drink in his hand. After a while, he rasped, "I said she doesn't like

me because of my lack of confidence. I've always lost to Eric. He was her first love, how could I

possibly win against him? It's natural for her to like my brother. He's superior, you know."

Drunk as he was, he was speaking truthfully.

"He's so good that she, an independent woman, was willing to risk having a child for him. She came to

me because of him. Eric's been dead for six years, and she's still not forgotten him. Eric, my always

superior brother."

He slumped onto the table, his eyes blurry as he stared at his glass.

"Huh, why did the glass get so tall all of a sudden?"

Phelps twitched his lips, massaging his forehead, "I'll take you home."

"I'm not going back. Her scent is all over that room, it makes me uncomfortable."

"Why don't you get the place cleaned?"

"Cleaned?"

Ian slurred, he was the drunkest he'd ever been, "Phelps, why did you get so tall all of a sudden?"

"Yes, cleaned. Then you won't be able to smell it."

"I won't be able to smell it? Then I won't be able to sleep at all."

"Why don't you patch things up with her?"

"No way, I'm Ian, how could I be my brother's substitute."

He laid his head down, his mind was far from clear. He felt like he had so many grievances to vent.

Phelps rarely went out, who would have thought he would encounter a drunkard.

He wanted to take Ian home, but Ian refused to move from the table.

Phelps had known Ian for many years, but this was the first time he saw him this drunk.

He wanted to call Maja, but considering their current conflict, he called Fitch instead.

Fitch arrived quickly, and together, they managed to get Ian to his feet.

As they reached the entrance of the BlueSky Bar, Ian thought he saw Maja watching him. He pushed

Phelps away and lunged for a small statue near the entrance.

The statue was about his height. He clung to it and refused to let go.

Fitch was worried about being seen by others. Feeling embarrassed, he quickly ordered a few

bodyguards to load the statue onto a truck and take it home.
