Chapter 1107

"Carol, I've been neglecting your feelings lately, I admit it. I'll talk to Listina, and she does depend on

me too much."

Seeing his compliant attitude, Carol felt a pang of guilt, but she didn't want her boyfriend constantly

running around for another woman.

Taking a deep breath, she tiptoed and planted a quick kiss on his lips.

"Alright, I'll leave first."

With that, she grabbed her keys and quickly left.

As soon as she left, the warmth in Felix's smile slowly vanished. His mood darkened as he wiped his

lips, thinking of their recent intimacy, which left his breathing disorderly.

He was getting carried away with that act.

But he had to remind himself constantly, and it was just a game.

Lowering his lashes, he, too, left the place.

Carol first went to the Raymond Corporation, hoping on a whim that Ian, the workaholic, might be

working late at the office.

But after asking around, it was clear Ian wasn't there.

Carol then drove to Greenfield Gardens, parking her car next to Ryan's.

Recognizing him, she rolled down her window without hesitation and greeted him.

"Mr. Elston."

Ryan knew her. After all, the Miller Group was a dominant industry nationwide and was always in the

top five, even in the circle.

He raised his chin in greeting with a smile.

"Ms. Miller, long time no see. How come you don't attend these circle events anymore?"

Carol had been busy dating for the past few months and had completely faded out of the circle. Abner

thought she was taking a break, as the old Carol was quite wild and a regular at the bars.

"Mr. Elston, I'd like to ask about Maja. You may not know, but she's my best friend."

Surprise flickered in Ryan's eyes, and he didn't know.

Following that, his expression darkened as he relayed the possibility of Maja's involvement in Holden's

murder.

Carol knew about Holden's death. Her father even visited the memorial service, but she wasn't close

with the other members of the Raymond family, so she didn't attend. She was shocked by the news of

Maja's involvement.

"Bullshit! Maja couldn't possibly do such a thing! Mr. Elston, take me to Greenfield Gardens. I can't get

in, but I need to speak to Ian."

Ryan also hoped Maja and his cousin could make it work, and the accusation against Maja was full of

doubts.

He nodded and drove to Greenfield Gardens.

The guards let them in without objection when they saw him.

Carol followed him in, bursting into Ian's study, where he was still working.

"Ian!"

Carol pushed the door open, seeing Ian still in an overseas meeting. His reaction to her arrival wasnovelbin

rather indifferent.

Ian shut his laptop, his eyebrows furrowed.

"Ms. Miller, I barely know you. You barge into my house in the middle of the night. Didn't the Miller

family teach you what manners are?"

Ian wasn't familiar with her, and they'd only met a few times. He only knew she was Maja's friend when

he was investigating Maja's background.

"Ian, does Maja's disappearance have anything to do with you? Do you suspect her of being the one

who murdered Holden?"

Ian slowly stood up and walked out of the study.

Carol followed him, her tone anxious.

"Do you really believe that? I've known Maja for years, and she would never do this. Ian, don't you love

her? If you love her, you should trust her. You were so eager to be with her. What happened? Are you

bored now and using this pathetic excuse to get rid of her?"

Ian chuckled coldly as he made his way downstairs.

"Please leave."

Carol's face flushed with anger as she sat down on the sofa.

"Why should I leave? Unless you tell me what happened to Maja! And she never liked you. You were

the one who wanted to make a deal with her, to sleep with her, and now you want to discard her like

trash in your dreams!"

Ian looked at her stubbornly, disgust flickering in his eyes.

"I know she doesn't like me, and I don't want to be ridiculous anymore. Is that ok?"

Carol thought he would lose his temper. It was known that Ian had a bad temper.

She had said such harsh words, but all he did was retort with this one sentence.
