Chapter 1088

Ian didn't utter a single word. He simply opened the door to the room and left.

Upon his return to the Raymond Mansion, the place was bathed in white, with a wake being held.

Ignoring the people in the grand hall, he headed upstairs, showered, and changed into fresh clothes.

Only then did he proceed to collect his grandfather's ashes.novelbin

He didn’t involve anyone throughout the process, placing the urn on the passenger seat of his car.

Then, he contacted the burial team, preparing to lay Holden to rest.

The burial was set for noon. Ian and other members of the Raymond family waited by the graveside,

the harsh midday sun overhead.

It wasn't until the last shovelful of dirt was laid that Ian solemnly knelt down. After bowing his head

thrice, he glanced at his grandfather's picture on the tombstone, rose, and left.

The remaining Raymond family members stood still, everyone thinking Ian was too indifferent. He

wasn't there for the funeral service, shed no tears in the past few days, and even today, his eyes were

dry.

"He's indeed not as compassionate as Eric," one commented.

"I wonder what will happen to the Raymond Corporation now that it's in his hands."

"Carl and Dennis are both gone. Now, who is his match? It would be great if Eric could come back."

"Enough of that. How can a dead man come back?"

The group stood together, all clad in black, discussing how the elder cousin was much better. Ryan

watched them with a hint of sarcasm in his eyes.

Back when Eric was alive, they were all green with envy, complaining about how unfair it was for one

family to produce two geniuses.

They were dissatisfied with the grandfather's premature decision to declare Eric the heir. But now, they

were all reminiscing about Eric.

Looking up at the sky, Ryan let out a sigh.

He was saddened by his grandfather's death but more worried about what his cousin would do next.

His grandfather's death involved Maja, so everyone in their circle was speculating whether Ian would

sever ties with her. Some were even eager to introduce their daughters to him.

Those families who had long wished to form an alliance with the Raymond family through marriage

immediately arranged for their daughters to meet Ian after hearing Maja was involved in Holden's

death.

But Ian had shut off his phone and wasn't seeing anyone.

Jeff was already there when Ian returned to Greenfield Gardens, respectfully waiting for him.

"Mr. Raymond."

He called out, following Ian to his study.

The moment the study door was closed, Jeff laid out all the files he had on the desk.

"This is the trace of those people. Also, Pearson Raymond took advantage of Holden's death,

embezzled all the money from a project, and fled."

Previously, Dennis Raymond and Pearson had suffered a major setback. They not only lost all their

shares but also had to sell their assets to live a life of poverty.

He thought Pearson would have the sense to leave Greenfield, but he still managed to steal twenty

million dollars during the chaos of Holden's death.

"Mr. Raymond, Pearson's escape route overlaps with the retreat route of these people. Ms.

Pennyfeather might also be in Pearson's vicinity. Should we go and search?"

Most people in their circle were speculating that Maja had something to do with Holden's death, but Jeff

didn't quite believe it.

He asked this, watching as Ian's face remained expressionless.

After a long while, Ian finally said, "Track Pearson's location."

But he didn't mention Maja.

Jeff wanted to ask if they should look for Maja, but seeing Ian's indifferent expression, he swallowed his

words.
