Chapter 1058

Ian sensed her mood, resting his chin on her chest, he curiously asked, "What's up?"

His tone was akin to a playful tease.

That was a side of Ian that others didn't get to see.

Maja's defenses crumbled in an instant.

"It's nothing, just thinking about how busy you are, and yet you still manage all my company affairs."

He chuckled lightly, capturing her hand to play with.

"Maja, once things settle down a bit, I'll take you on vacation."

"Yeah."

Maja agreed verbally, but she had a gut feeling that their so-called vacation might be indefinitely

postponed.

Ian rose, guiding her to sit nearby.

"I want to take you for a health check-up."

Given Clara's status, she carried too many diseases. If there were any inherited from birth, it would be

better to know sooner rather than later.

Moreover, Drew's brother seemed to have some other defects besides being a cripple.

He was really worried about Maja’s health; it was necessary to take preventative measures.

But perhaps the last thing Maja wanted to deal with at that point were those two individuals.

She knew Ian's intentions, but the sudden rush of embarrassment turned her cheeks a shade paler.

Ian patted her back, his tone reassuring.

"Clara and Drew are actually related. Otherwise, when Clara retired, she wouldn't have found a

marriage partner. Drew, being a bachelor of a certain age, had just been released from prison and had

a bad reputation locally. No woman wanted to marry him."

Such unions often produced children with congenital diseases and disabilities.

As he spoke, he covertly observed Maja's expression and reaction to his words.

Maja remained silent, standing quietly. After a while, she finally spoke up, saying,

"Where are they now?"

"They've been sent back to Crystalbrook Valley. They won't be coming to Greenfield again."

Ian hadn't killed them after all. Thinking of that, Maja's eyes were filled with a cold rage.

"Ian, let's go to Rosewood Manor."

"Okay."

Ian was at that moment willing to do anything to accommodate her.

An hour later, they arrived at Rosewood Manor.

Coco ran over from a distance, jumping and barking by her side.

Maja squatted down to pet her.

Ian scanned the surroundings but did not see Rocky, his brows furrowed.

"Where's Rocky?" He curiously asked Maja.

Maja was taken aback, "Didn't you give him away?"

"No, didn't I give him to you?"

Just as Coco was a cherished memory of her first love, Rocky was an animal he had spent much time

and money nurturing.

Maja stood up, her gaze meeting his.

"Didn't you give Rocky to Judith?"novelbin

"Maja, when did I ever give Rocky to her?"

His face darkened, his gaze roving the area. Indeed, Rocky was nowhere to be found.

"Did you give Rocky away and now you can't explain it to me, so you made up this excuse?"

Maja recalled the events of that night and belatedly realized something was amiss.

Ian turned around to leave without entering.

"Ian, where are you going?" She asked hurriedly.

"To get Rocky back!"

His tone was nonchalant as he got into the car.

Maja followed suit.

Soon, they arrived at the villa where Judith resided.

Ian had Jeff call Judith to have her safely hand over Rocky.

Judith was ecstatic to see Ian at her doorstep, but her joy quickly faded away when Wind informed her,

"Not just Ian, Maja is also with him."

"Why did she come along? How cheap!" She sneered, not wanting Maja anywhere near her villa and

her life.

"Wind, bring in Ian. As for Maja, just let her wait outside."

Wind hurried to the gate to deliver the message. Ian remained in the car, merely stating, "I'm here for

Rocky."

The car behind them was a large cargo vehicle which was apparently meant to transport Rocky.

Wind then remembered the white wolf Judith had been doting on recently, claiming that she'd never

had such a satisfying pet.

"Mr. Raymond, that was a gift you gave away."

Ian tapped his fingers on the steering wheel.

"Ten minutes. I'm taking Rocky."

Wind's face fell and he relayed the message to Judith.

Judith was livid upon hearing Ian was there to take Rocky away, "That's the gift he gave me! Even that

cheap Maja doesn't have it. He can't take it back!"
