Chapter 420

A whopping 35% stake in the Neilian Group was at stake, and with Neil sick as a dog and CristinaPerkins in a pickle, the Pennyfeather family fortune was hanging by a thread, with only Maja holdingdown the fort. If she kicked the bucket, the ownership of the company will be up for grabs.

Tom was as cocky as a fox.

“Chill out, guys. I busted my chops to get this stuff,” he said.

Still, the others were on pins and needles, knowing full well that they were playing with fire.

But considering Maja’s highhandedness, they all had a bone to pick with her, especially for that juicy35% stake.

Matthew finally lost his cool.

“Don’t forget, the Pennyfeathers and Raymonds are about to tie the knot. If the Raymonds catch windof this, what then?” he asked.

Tom sneered, “Do you guys know who hooked me up with this stuff?”

“Who?” everyone inquired.

“Tricia,” he replied.

Back in the day, Cristina wielded a lot of clout in the company and often brought Tricia along, so Tomknew her.

“You probably don’t know, but Maja is not Neil’s flesh and blood. She is a stray, and if the Raymondsfind out, they’d be mortified. After all, it’s their golden boy, lan, who’d be affected,” Tom revealed.

If the Raymond elders found out their golden boy was marrying a stray, they’d be mad as a wet hen.

“Tricia gave me this stuff. She said the Raymonds are not too keen on Maja’s lineage, and it wouldactually be a blessing in disguise for them if something were to happen to Maja,” Tom added.

Hearing this, everyone wore a satisfied grin.

Tom stood up, confidence oozing from every pore.

“Tricia is Neil’s only legitimate daughter and most likely to replace Maja as lan’s bride. Most importantly, she is easier to deal with than Maja. If that 35% stake lands in her lap, she promised to share it witheveryone involved in this,” Tom said.novelbin

Knowing that Maja was not Neil’s biological daughter, everyone felt emboldened.

After getting the bank password, Tricia called Tom up. She had vowed to make Maja regret it.

She didn’t plan to leave Maja right away, though. She wanted to use lan to hurt Maja.

Seeing how Maja was shameless enough to go after lan but too chicken to reveal her true identity, itwas clear Maja had fallen for him first.

Tricia cursed Maja under her breath and got in touch with some of her contacts.

“Kidnap Carlene and Maja now. I’ll give you two million,” she said.

With the promise of two million, the others were on board in a heartbeat.

Tricia smirked, realizing all these resources were thanks to Glenn, the playboy, who had a bunch ofgoons at his disposal.

Two million was enough to make them risk their necks for her.

Even if she had to leave Greenfield, she would make those she despised pay through the nose!

Tricia had red, swollen eyes. She looked at the phone number on her cellphone but didn’t have theguts to dial it.

After stealing Carlene’s phone last night, she had memorized lan’s number.

She stared at the string of digits, imagining whether Ian would give her a second glance if Maja andCarlene, those two hussies, were out of the picture.

Thinking this way, her body didn’t feel any pain anymore. Instead, she felt oddly comforted.

Carlene never saw it coming that what she had her bodyguard do last night would drive Tricia up thewall.

In the evening, Carlene left her house. As she was driving through the alley, two cars forced her to astop.

A couple of burly men jumped out of the cars, came over to her window, and roughly opened her cardoor.

Scared out of her wits, Carlene immediately dialed lan..

“lan, help me!”

Before she could finish, the phone was knocked out of her hand and switched off.

“What do you want? Let me go!”

The next second, Carlene was pushed against the steering wheel and blacked out.

lan was working late at the office when he picked up the call.

After answering the call, he heard Carlene’s voice, followed by silence.

“Carlene?”

He called out, but the call was promptly hung up.

lan’s brow furrowed, and he asked someone to trace the phone’s location right away.
