Chapter 379

lan didn’t pick up the phone, which was pretty much a public slap in the face, but she didn’t give a hoot.

She made her way to the Raymond Corporation.

It was already seven in the evening, but the lights at the Raymond Corporation were still blazing.

When she got to the top floor, Jeff was still there, seemingly surprised to see her show up that late..

Maja gave him a wry smile, “I’m here for Mr. Raymond*

He replied, “The boss has an international meeting tonight. He just went into the conference room, probably for two hours.”

She was prepared to wait, so she took a seat on the side..

But as she waited, she grew impatient. She never thought she’d stoop so low as to make such a dealwith someone.

Her mom had always instilled in her the importance of hard work and being self–reliance.

Lillian’s favorite lesson was that women must be financially, mentally, and morally independent.

As a kid, Maja didn’t get it, but as she grew older, she began to appreciate Lillian’s wisdom.

She wasn’t an average Jane from places like Crystalbrook Valley. Her knowledge and wisdom set herapart from other women.

She found herself reminiscing about the past, time seemed to fly by.

When the office door swung open, she stood up, and there was lan, looking all high and mighty.

He had taken off his suit, which was casually draped over his arm, with only a watch as an accessory. He looked like a dignified millionaire.

He walked over to his desk, and his eyes landed on her across the marble table.

He took off his watch, tossed it aside, his gaze icy, lips blood–red. Under the overhead light, his skinlooked as smooth as cold porcelain. No matter when she looked at his face, she’d be blown away byhis good looks.

“Mr. Raymond.”

She called out as she stood up.

He seemed to know why she was there.

“Penny, showing up at this hour, the price tag isn’t the same, you know.”

He was getting back at her, for rejecting him earlier in the private room.

This was probably the first time lan had ever been given the cold shoulder by a woman, so he walkedup to her, lifted her chin, his eyes filled with mockery.

Maja’s face turned red, then pale in an instant. She felt totally mortified.

“So, Mr. Raymond, what’s the price tag now?”

She tried to sound calm, but her lips were pale, her skin as fair as white jad?.

lan let go of her chin and stood up straight, his words as cold as his demeanor.

“Before, you only had to sleep with me once. Now, it’s at least ten times.”

Maja felt a buzz in her head.

lan noticed her eyelashes flutter, as if sleeping with him was such a scary thing.

He let out a cold laugh and turned around to head back to his seat.

But she grabbed his wrist, her voice trying to sound nonchalant,

“Fine, ten times it is.”

Then, lan was pulling her up onto his desk.

He found the paperwork on the desk annoying and swept it all onto the floor.

Maja saw the large floor–to–ceiling window in front of her and recoiled in fear.

lan seemed to sense her apprehension, pulled her close and kissed her without hesitation.

“You came looking for me, still worried about being discovered?”

His words shattered her pride into a million pieces.

Right here in this office, she didn’t even notice if the door was locked or not, Maja was scared stiff.

But he was too dominant, kissing her until she could hardly breathe.

Her heart was pounding in her chest.

She felt like a paper plane tumbling in the clouds.

Tossed and turned by the wind, plummeting.

She couldn’t take it anymore, and bit down on his shoulder.

But he was still in his suit, while she was bare.novelbin

The disparity filled her with endless shame.
