Chapter 315

Maja was dumbstruck, clueless about what he was talking about.

Was it about the house? Or Dana?

Her gaze fell on Carlene. Now that lan had brought Carlene here, it seemed to be about Dana.novelbin

“Mr. Raymond, I don’t have any particular thoughts. Dana has apologized. I can’t be too harsh, andDana is indeed the victim,” she said.

As soon as she finished speaking, she felt the atmosphere around lan turn heavy.

“Is there anything else?”

He stared at her coldly, “That’s it?”

His presence was overwhelming. Maja felt pressured, her palms starting to sweat.

Was lan trying to pick a fight?

“So what do you want to do? Dana does owe me an apology. I would’ve taken the blame if I hadn’tbeen lucky to be there. Even though you like Carlene, you can’t help someone who’s done wrong.”

Taking Maja’s words seriously, Carlene thought lah wanted to help her.

She immediately hooked her arm affectionately through lan’s and smiled slightly.

“lan, it’s Dana’s fault; we’ve talked about it. Don’t make it hard for Penny anymore.”

lan didn’t respond, just looked at Maja coldly.

Even though he had intentionally toned down his intimidating aura, it was still formidable.

Maja was flustered under his gaze. If lan really wanted to pick on her, she wouldn’t stand a chance atGreenfield.

But she just raised her head and looked at him. She had done nothing wrong.

After a while, lan reached out and placed the hot milk that had just been served next to Carlene.

A light flickered in Carlene’s eyes. “I thought the milk was for Penny.”

“The milk is a bit hot; let it cool down.”

His tone was indifferent, and his gaze lowered.

Maja felt uncomfortable throughout the meal. She wanted to leave as soon as she was full, but she hadcome in lan’s car yesterday.

That’s when Connie came in handy; knowing Maja wanted to go home, she spoke up, “lan, when areyou leaving? Let Penny go with us.”

lan had finished eating by this time, his tone even colder.

“Let her walk back herself.”

Connie was taken aback, feeling a bit sorry for Maja.

She hadn’t expected lan to be so heartless, not even willing to give her a lift.

“Penny…”

She thought Maja would be upset, but Maja looked relieved.

“Connie, thank you. I can catch a ride with someone else. He’s not in a good mood today; I better notannoy him.”

Connie was a bit confused, not understanding why he suddenly got angry.

These two didn’t seem like they’d just hooked up.

When lan walked over to Tyler’s table, Carlene didn’t follow but went to chat with other socialites.

Tyler saw his gloomy face and couldn’t help but chuckle.

“You look unsatisfied. I heard Ms. Shepard didn’t stay in her room last night. Weren’t you happy withher performance?”

“Buzz off.”

lan sat down coldly, his aura as sharp as a knife. This was the first time he had been so emotional.

Samuel and a few other rich young men were chatting nearby and sat beside lan.

“Men’s words in bed can’t be trusted. Neither can women’s. She was all over me a few days ago, calling me ‘darling‘. Now that she’s mingling with others, I’ve become a nobody.”

The man who said this was quite the playboy.

Samuel chimed in. “Well, it’s better than not recognizing you once she’s out of bed. If a woman is fickle, how is it any different from a man? Why do people always say men are fickle, right?”

Just as he finished speaking, the sound of a glass breaking was heard.

Sitting across from lan, Tyler was startled by the sight of blood on his fingers.

“lan, are you…”

lan looked at his palm in silence. During the meeting, he had considered accepting if she proposedmarriage.

He initially thought he could stall his wife for a bit longer, given that Holden’s health was indeeddeteriorating.

But if Penny proposed, he could divorce sooner.

But evidently, last night’s ‘darling was not her addressing him but her mistaking him for Nathan.
