Dagger heard Makhi say Lachlan's name, and he was completely confused. They now knew thatLachlan was a powerful figure, but they weren't sure how well-known he was. Would it even matterif Makhi mentioned his name?

Makhi had acted on impulse too, not expecting the Transmutation Force expert in front of them toreact so strongly to Lachlan's name. "That's right! My boss is Lachlan. Looks like you've heard ofhim too," Makhi boasted. "You should know how badass my boss is. If you mess with us, he'll wipeout the entire Britt family for revenge."

Fabian's expression changed several times as he sneered, "Lachlan is really your boss?" As amember of the Transmutation Force and an important figure in the Britt family, Fabian had beeninformed about Lachlan possibly coming to the Capital last night.

He knew who Lachlan was and that one of Ghost Plaque Sect's top experts had died at his hands.

So when Fabian heard his name mentioned again by Makhi and Dagger today, he couldn't help butbe surprised.

Makhi and Dagger were also excited by Fabian's reaction; it seemed like mentioning Lachlan reallydid have some power behind it! Was their previous plan to assassinate him a mistake?

However, upon hearing this, Dagger's face turned dark and he looked at his leader with aspeechless expression. He thought to himself, "Can you use your brain before boasting? Why doyou speak without thinking?"

There was no way Lachlan could come over in such a short time. Wasn't this just shooting himself inthe foot?

Sure enough, when Makhi said that Lachlan would come over soon, Fabian raised an eyebrow andasked in a deep voice while staring at Makhi, "You said Lachlan will come over soon?"

Makhi's face immediately flashed with guilt. He gritted his teeth and nodded firmly, "Yes! What aboutit? Are you scared now?"

Fabian looked at Makhi with a sneer on his face. "I think it's actually you who is scared."

He continued coldly, "I've never heard of Lachlan having little minions like you guys. Even if he ispowerful, he couldn't have arrived here so quickly to support you guys."

He chuckled sarcastically and added, "Don't even mention whether or not you are really part ofLachlan's gang. Even if you are, it won't help now!"

With that said, Fabian exuded an intense killing intent as he locked onto Dagger again.

Makhi and Dagger both showed panic and despair on their faces; the latter even gave a bitter smileas he prepared for death.

Meanwhile, Makhi cursed himself inwardly for being so stupid to blurt out about Lachlan earlierwhen they had already made him wary.

Now they were almost exposed because of him! Why did he have to say that Lachlan would becoming soon? Not only did they not have any connection with him but also how could anyone travel

from Edoland all the way here so quickly?

Just then though, right at this crucial moment, both Makhi and Fabian suddenly felt their vision blur.

Immediately after that came a cold yet playful voice, "Oh? It doesn't work now?"

A figure appeared abruptly between Makhi and Dagger on one side and Fabian on the other side.

Upon seeing this person though, despite being ready to attack just moments ago, Fabian froze upcompletely next second upon recognizing him, "You... you're... Lachlan?" His movements becamesluggish as shock registered across his features.

"As genuine as can be," replied Lachlan smirking wickedly.

Both Makhi and Dagger stared incredulously at him too; unable to believe what was happeningbefore them.

What?! How could this be possible?! Wasn't it just impossible for him to show up out of nowhere?

Makhi's face was full of surprise and excitement, his voice even trembling with tears, "Lachlan boss,you really came to save us! You're like a god!"

He couldn't help but wonder if Lachlan was actually a heavenly immortal. It was as if he had heardtheir prayers and miraculously appeared. Otherwise, this would be too surreal.

Lachlan's expression became strange when he heard Makhi calling him "boss." When did hebecome the leader of these silly assassins?
