Chapter 299

“I don’t blame you for leaving me andfalling in love in Mosgravia. I wouldn’t even blame you for givingbirth to someone’s child.” Hatred filled Jasper’s eyes.

He curled his fists and continued,”But you shouldn’t have lied about your severe depression. You usedit as a cover to manipulate me into marrying you!”

“No … That’s not it …” Liana startedmumbling incoherently as blood drained from her face. The gravityof her mistake finally dawned on her.

She lied that she suffered from severe depression to keep Jasper by her side. However, it hadn’toccurred to her that Jasper and his mother were the victims of severe depression.

Worried that Liana might share his mother’s fate, he tolerated her behavior

and cruelly abandoned Alyssa, who had loved him deeply.

She had never considered the fallout when her cover was blown. Not only did she manipulate Jasper, but she also humiliated his mother. Jasper would never forgive her.

“You manipulated my feelings with thecondition that my mother and I suffered from.”Jasper was burningin regret and rage. He laughed at himself. “Liana, you made me feel like a fool.”

“No, Jasper! That’s not it…”

Landon shook his head and questioned with resentment, “Liana, nobody knows Jasper’s pain as muchas you do because you were his childhood friend. You wouldn’t have tortured and lied to Jasper, inflicting pain on him for the second time, if you had a bit of conscience.

“How could you guilt-trip him with yourchildhood memories? It begs the question

if you’re truly in love with him. That’s not how you treat a man you love. I’d rather be single than date awoman like you. This is sickening.”

“Landon, that’s enough.” Jasper wasreluctant to revisit his memories of Liana or get involved with herany further.”Xavier, I do not want to see her ever. I want her out of my sight right now.”

“Of course, Mr. Beckett!”Xavier stared atLiana with a look of disgust and forcefully dragged her away.

“Jasper, how could you treat me this way?”Liana finally ditched her pitiful act andyelled at himhysterically.”Those are all excuses! You broke up with me because you were bored of me! You left mebehind because you are in love with Alyssa Taylor!

“What’s so good about that bitch? Did shesave your life or what? She used a fake identity from the startbecause she was up to something!Wasn’t she lying to you as well?”

“Shut the fuck up! You have no right tocompare yourself to her!”Jasper’s eyes widened in fury as hebellowed at Liana,a scene never seen before.”One more word about Alyssa from you, and I will kick theGardners out of this country. Get lost right now!”

His harsh words hit her like a rock. Fear gnawed at her insides. She would have collapsed right there ifXavier had not held on to her.

She had underestimated how much Jasper cared about Alyssa. Her attempt to paint Alyssa black hadbackfired, turning her into a joke once more.

Peace returned to the corridor after Liana was dragged away.

“Bro, despite everything, I’d like tocongratulate you.” Landon was glad that Jasper had returned to theright track and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Landon added, “It’s not too late to comenovelbin

around, no matter how long or how badly you’ve been lied to.”

“Is it not too late?” Jasper smiled in defeatas his shoulders trembled dejectedly. Why did he feel that itwas too late?
