Chapter 165

“Yeah, he’s not worth it.” Alyssa mumbled in a daze.

Landon inhaled sharply. He had a heartache seeing the shattered look in her eyes.

“Alice, why don’t we try it out?”

Alyssa’s brows knitted tightly.

“Take your time to accept me. I’m no gentleman, but I’m willing to try for your sake!”

At the very least, he believed he would be better to her than Jasper.

“Landon, I’m exhausted. Please don’t put me in a difficult place.” She glanced at him dejectedly.

“Alice. His breath grew shallow. He felt sorry for her.novelbin

“It’s late. I really want to go to bed. You should go home soon.” She shoved him aside and draggedherself into the bedroom.

“Are you

and Jonah a thing? What’s your relationship with him? Are you dating him seriously or using him to getback at Jaspery

She was taken aback by Landon’s pointed questions and curled her fists. “That’s none of yourbusiness.”

“I don’t see any trace of him in your villa. If he’s really your boyfriend, why isn’t there a pair of men’sslippers at the door? Why did he not leave anything behind?”

“I’ll repeat myself. This is none of your business. Stay out of it.”

“Alice, please don’t hurt yourself with silly decisions!” He pleaded bitterly and fervently.

She pursed her lips and left without turning back.

It took Jasper two hours to drive home to Seaview Manor from Alyssa’s house, a journey that normallytook an hour.

He almost lost focus of the road due to his excruciating headache and the low visibility in the rain. Hewas close to getting into a car accident twice.

Back at the manor, he busted open his study door and swept the glasses and files on his table in afrantic search for pills. When he finally found the bottle, he swallowed a pill without water.

Despite taking double the usual dosage, his headache did not go away.

“Had I known you were such a jerk, I wouldn’t have married you!”

As Alice’s resentful words echoed in his mind, he groaned and curled into a ball. He was sweating allover from the massive headache.

Mrs. Rosie, who heard the commotion, rushed into the study. Tears came to her eyes when she foundJasper in pain. “Mr. Jasper, what happened? Are you having a headache again?”

Jasper couldn’t think straight and stammered, “Alice A–Alice White-

*Mr. Jasper, hang on! I’ll get you the family doctor!” The pale Mrs. Rosle dashed out of the study whenthe phone buzzed incessantly. It was an incoming call from an unknown number.

“Who is this?”

“Mrs. Rosie, it’s me.” Mrs. Rosie heard a soft female voice.

“M–Madam Alice, is that you?” She covered her mouth in disbelief.

“Yes, it’s me, Alice.”

“That’s great!” Mrs. Rosie wiped away her tears between sobs. “P–Please help Mr. Jasper. His Hisheadache is back! He’s in so much pain that he’s speaking nonsense now! He did not relapse whenyou were with him. His headache worsened once he left you. What do we

do?”

“Mrs. Kose, do not panic. Listen to me.”

Alyssa breathed deeply and explained clearly. “Go to my room and find a silver box in my bedsidedrawer. I have a set of silver needles that I treated his headache with. You’ll find a notebookunderneath the box with the treatment details and the acupoints. You’ve learned a little acupuncturebefore, so I presume it isn’t difficult for you?”

“Yes Yes! I know acupuncture. I’ll get the needles right now!”

“By the way. Mr. Jasper has been hurt tonight from a branch hitting him on his back. He didn’t say aword about it, but I’m sure it is a serious injury. I have some creams and medical ointments in thedrawer. Please apply them to his wound. If it doesn’t heal in a few days. bring him to the doctorimmediately.”

“Got it. I’ve noted it down, Madam Alice.” Feeling upset, Mrs. Rosie wiped away more tears. Why didMr. Jasper let go of a lovely woman

Like Alice?

“One last thing.” After a pause, Alyssa said with a sigh, “Do not tell Mr. Jasper that I called you tonight.Please.”
