Gwen fell into Sean’s arms. She was confused for a few moments. Then, she said, “T–This doesn’t

seem like something friends do.”

“You’re right…” Sean met Gwen’s sharp eyes and swallowed.

“Friends also don’t put their hands under another friend’s clothes.”

Gwen laughed. She slowly stood up with Sean’s support. Keeping her arms around his neck, she

asked, “Do you want to come upstairs?”

Her words startled Sean. His relationship with Gwen had started because of this question.

Memories of the past flooded back into his mind like a tide. Back then, he had been the one who had

asked this question.

This time, she had asked him.

“Okay.” He had already given his answer before his brain could even process the situation.

Gwen smirked and pressed her lips against his. “Let’s go.”

The two entered the elevator together. When the elevator doors closed, Sean wrapped his arms

around Gwen’s waist and kissed those lips he had long desired. Her sweet taste almost made him lose

control.

Gwen leaned against the cold elevator wall and raised her head, kissing Sean back with the same

amount of passion.

The elevator soon arrived at Gwen’s floor. However, the two of them didn’t break apart. They stumbled

their way to the door. Gwen took out her keys and quickly opened the door.

After entering her house, Sean reached out to turn on the lights, but she stopped him. “Keep the lights

off.”

Sean kissed Gwen again. “Okay.”

The darkness seemed to bring them unbridled courage. Then, the two of them enjoyed themselves in

the dark without any worry about the future. They simply kept sinking deeper into their

feelings.

Daphne was curled up beside the couch like a mouse inside the apartment.

Jane had been sent to prison, and Liam had died. Meanwhile, she was sent back to where she used

to live.

However, this didn’t make her feel like she had survived an ordeal. Instead, she had an intense

fear of what was to come.

Kirk hadn’t killed her because there was a more severe punishment in store for her than going to

prison.

She looked at the surveillance cameras and begged, “Mr. Kirk, please let me go. I’m not the one

who wants to target Caroline. Someone else does. It’s that mysterious person.”

Daphne really hated the mystery woman who had encouraged her to kill Caroline! If it hadn’t been

for her, she wouldn’t have asked Jane to send out the Collins family’s people to kill Caroline.

“That mysterious woman is behind everything, not me. Please let me go, Mr. Kirk!”

She kept crying, but she had no idea that the person who installed the surveillance camera wasn’t

Kirk but Finn.

“Is this really the person you recruited?”

Finn casually put his legs on the table and sneered, “Can such a piece of trash be of use to you?”

Avery’s face turned livid at his words. She hissed, “Did you call me here in the middle of the night

just to show me this?”

Finn stood up. He slowly walked to Avery’s side and bent down, his breath hitting Avery’s cheeks.

“Of course not. I just want to tell you that you might as well come to me for help instead of finding novelbin

trash like her.”

Avery suddenly stood up. “Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. Working with you is

equivalent to making a deal with the devil.

“By then, whether Kirk will still be SY Group’s president will be a big mystery.”

Finn smiled at her words. “See? You still care about becoming the richest man’s wife. If you

become mine, I can make your dreams come true.”
