Kirk threw the cigaretté back to Sean and got into the car. Then, the car started and headed for the

hospital.

“How unfair. You scared us to death, but you still won’t let us tease you,” Gwen said with a smile.

Sonia said, “Gwen, you’d better just tell Caroline what she wants to know. Kirk just went out. He’ll be

back soon.”

Caroline’s face turned red at Sonia’s words. After a long while, she mumbled, “He went out? Where did

he go?”

Gwen pointed at Caroline and said, “See? I told you. She only has Kirk on her mind.”

Since Gwen and Sonia kept changing the topic, she was sure Kirk hadn’t gone anywhere else.
