Chapter 277

“We’ll find out if the card is real after I pay.”

Sean turned to Caroline and said, “Go ahead and pick whatever you want, Caroline.” Kirk was the one

paying, anyway.

Caroline knew that Sean’s net worth was a lot since he was a genius doctor, but she and Sean were ju

st friends. She felt terrible about him spending so much money.

But if she chose to repay the money, she couldn’t afford to. She said, “We should go, Sean. I have to g

o to work.”

Just as Caroline was about to turn around, she heard Jane’s mocking voice. “See? I told you it was fak

e. It seems you both complement

each other as a couple.”

Gwen snapped before Caroline did. She tugged at Caroline’s clothes, grilled her teeth, and shouted, “B

uy whatever you want, Carol! Ifnovelbin

worst comes to worst, you can just treat it as a gift from me. I’ll return the money to Sean.

“We’re not arguing about this! The Collins family is going too far!”

Caroline smiled slightly. “Why waste money just because someone else is judging you? Besides, a wed

ding dress isn’t a necessity.”

Hearing what Caroline said, Sean

touched his nose and cursed internally. With her husband’s conditions, he could make shopping for a w

edding dress seem like grocery shopping.

Sean couldn’t bear to see Caroline foolishly saving money for Kirk. Yet he held back the urge to tell her

the truth for his friend’s sake.

He approached Caroline and quietly said, “Don’t worry about the money. It isn’t an issue for me.”

After a brief pause, he continued, “I’m mainly doing this to get even with those jerks. If you don’t buy it,

I’ll feel uncomfortable.”

Gwen convinced her as well “He’s right, Carol Go ahead and pick whatever you want. For people like t

hem, money doesn’t buy happiness at all. Money isn’t an issue for Sean.”

They pushed Caroline into the store. She had no choice but to tell the clerk, “I want

to see some wedding dresses.”

The store manager looked at Daphne and Jane. The former was the wife of Eddy’s mysterious second

uncle, while the latter was the wife of Howard Collins. And Caroline and her companions were just nobo

dys.

After thinking about it, she said, “I’m sorry. We only accept VIPS in our store today. You should come a

gain next time.”

Sean smirked. He asked, “You’re only taking VIPs, huh? Your store’s largest shareholder is Morrison C

orp, right?”

The clerk was stunned and said, “Yes.”

Sean took out his phone and called Eddy. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, he

said on the phone, “Mr. Eddy, I’m in your store right now, and the service here is dreadful. Today is obvi

ously a regular day, but the store manager lied, saying that only VIPS are allowed in today. Is this how

your subordinates fool the customers?”

When Sean opened his mouth, everyone thought of Eddy, but Jane and Daphne soon denied this possi

bility.

There was no way someone like him knew Eddy. He was acting again. The poorer someone was, the

more they worked to compensate for

1. it.

Sean complained on the phone for a while longer, then handed the phone to the store manager.

The store manager hesitated for a moment but still took the phone. When she heard Eddy’s voice, she

trembled in fear. She tried to explain, “M–Mr. Eddy I…

Daphne and Jane simultaneously raised their heads.

The store manager’s face was already flushed red. She said, “Yes, I understand. I’ll pack up my things

and leave right away.”

When the store manager spoke, a man ran in from the door. He walked in panting. He had obviously ru

shed over here.

“M–May I ask which one of you is Mr. Sean Yates?”

When Jane and Daphne heard his name, their faces turned pale.
