Chatper 1868

The level of defense in the Dragon Guard’s base was indeed formidable. After passing through the wall, it was a different scenebefore Julius.

From its size, the base behind the wall could be considered a town. There were all kinds of buildings, such as barracks, traininggrounds, labs, armories, bunkers, and military airports.

There were also many facilities for the civilians there.

After scanning around, Julius predicted that the military base could accommodate at least 50 to 100 thousand people based onthe size of the buildings.

Counting out the logistical personnel, this was still an extremely powerful army! With so many weapons and troops, it could takedown a city in no time.

Despite having experienced many ups and downs, Julius couldn’t help but secretly be alarmed at that moment. The Dragon Guard had kept it too well. Without revealing any signs, they had accumulated a substantial military force.Plus, even West Lucozia’s spies didn’t notice anything.

Suddenly, Julius was a bit regretful of his choice. He wondered if he could escape in one piece if he poisoned Reagan in thisbase.

It was practically impossible.“Grand General Rhys, please come with me.” Cinna’s voice interrupted Julius’ thoughts.

Then, Cinna led him to the command room located in the middle of the military base. There were very few knew that a militarybunker was built deep beneath the command room.

At this moment, Reagan was silently sitting in the command room while wearing a mask. The old version of Titanic was playingon the television before him.

Meanwhile, Reagan’s eyes were glued to the screen. At this moment, someone knocked on the door.

“Come in,” Reagan answered casually. The door to the command room was opened. Then, Cinna and Julius walked inside oneafter another.novelbin

“Grand General Rhys, we meet again. Come and sit.” Reagan stood up and shook hands with Julius warmly.

“Sir Judd, your base is truly well- hidden. Despite being West Lucozia’s Grand General of the Iron Stallion Cavalry, I've nevernoticed it for so many years.” Julius sighed.

Reagan smiled and answered, “You're too kind. They’re all left behind by the previous descendants. I’m only taking it over. Right. Why did you want to meet me so anxiously?”

“To be honest, I’m here to ask for help. Today should have been the day that | ascended to the throne. However, | didn’t expectsuch a big change to happen.

“Now, all my efforts have been in vain. As I'm at wits’ end, | can only come to you for help,” Julius said with a sigh.

“What? What exactly happened?” Reagan looked confused.

“Rufus didn’t die. He’s still alive and well!” Julius replied lowly.

“What? He didn’t die? How is that possible? My subordinate gave him an attack that should have taken his life. There’s no wayhe’s still alive.” Reagan's voice was filled with shock.

“| saw it with my own eyes. There’s no way it’s fake. Rufus is a cunning man. After the assassination attempt this time, hedeceived all of us by pretending to be dead.

“This caused our plan to fail and all of our efforts to turn futile,” Julius explained seriously.
