Chatper 1837

It appeared to be a desperate move, a gambit that Austin and the others unwittingly fell into. Julius not only tracked their everymovement but also discerned their intentions from the beginning.

Unwittingly, they stumbled into Julius’s trap, with all their actions unfolding exactly as he had anticipated.

Julius’s foresight allowed him to set up this intricate trap, enticing them unsuspectingly and maneuvering them into a precariousposition. The ultimate goal was to seize the military insignia.

Moreover, Austin and the others’ actions led the wolf to the door, falling victim to Julius’s scheme and resulting in the loss of themilitary insignia.

Admittedly, achieving the esteemed rank of Grand General Rhys in West Lucozia was truly an exceptional accomplishment. However, in the intricate game of strategy, they proved to be inexperienced.novelbin

Time passed quickly, and dawn arrived. After a night of cleaning, the bodies in front of the castle gates were cleared. However, the bloodstains seeped into the ground and resisted all attempts to wash them away.

The forces of the Four Sovereigns were stationed in the defense camp, not far from the castle, ready to provide support ifneeded.

Due to the loss of the military insignia, most people in the castle had spent a sleepless night.

Jaxon and the Draken Guardians he led had been chasing through the night but hadn’t returned. After breakfast, Eloise gatheredthe other three Sovereigns to discuss strategies and gather information.

However, with the situation still unclear, any discussion seemed futile.

Just when everyone felt at a loss, Jaxon, who had disappeared for the night, finally returned. He led a group when he left, butnow only he returned, wounded and alone.

As soon as he entered the council hall, he fell to his knees, spitting blood.

“General Steele! How did you get injured like this?” Eloise’s expression changed. She quickly ordered someone to help him to achair.

“General Steele, what's the situation? Did you retrieve the military insignia?” Tyrus immediately inquired.Compared to Jaxon’s injuries, Tyrus naturally cared more about the whereabouts of the military insignia.“Your Highness, | failed in my mission, “Jaxon weakly confessed.

He added, “Not only did | not catch Elijah, but we were ambushed on the way, resulting in the sacrifice of a Draken Guardianssquad. The military insignia is lost. Please, Your Highness, forgive my failure.”

“What? You didn’t catch him?” Tyrus frowned, his face showing displeasure.

“General Steele, you’ve done your best. No need to blame yourself.” Eloise forced a smile.

She knew Elijah must have been well- prepared to seize the military insignia. Catching up to him would prove quite the challengefor Jaxon, and there was the risk of getting even more entangled in the mess.

“Your Highness, on my way back, the Black Dragon Army has mobilized. You must leave quickly. Do not delay.” Jaxon’s emotionswere somewhat agitated, and he coughed up more blood.

He added, “Otherwise, when the army arrives, it will be too late for regrets!”

“General Steele, we've made the necessary preparations. You don’t need to worry. You're severely injured. Go rest first.” Eloisegestured for someone to help the heavily injured Jaxon.

As Jaxon left, a palace guard rushed in with a panicked expression. “Your Highness! This is bad!

“A large number of Black Dragon Army soldiers have suddenly appeared at the Celestria Gate. They've sealed all the entrancesand exits!”

With these words, the faces of everyone present changed drastically.
