Richard could no longer hold himself back after hearing that. He leaned over and kissed Pearl.
Pearl responded, albeit with little experience. Their kiss deepened, becoming more passionate.
When they were fully engrossed, Richard pulled away.
Confused, Pearl licked her lips, hinting at her dissatisfaction.
"Okay, that's it. I'll take you to the hospital."
"Why do I need to go to the hospital?" Pearl looked at Richard, her body feeling feverish. She felt aburning sensation, her mind clouded.
"It's not the right time. We should wait until we're both ready for this." Despite his desire, Richardrestrained himself, knowing Pearl wasn't thinking clearly. Though they were technically married, hewanted to respect her.
"Okay." Pearl seemed to understand and lowered her head in disappointment.
Richard admired his restraint as they quickly reached the hospital.
The doctor immediately recognized Pearl's condition. "What happened? How did she end up likethis?" He eyed Richard suspiciously. "Couples shouldn't experiment like this. This drug isdangerous. Overdosing could be fatal."
The doctor wondered where Richard got the drug, which was illegal and not sold in the market.
Richard cleared his throat and clarified, "No, it was an accident. I brought her here as soon as Irealized."novelbin
The doctor relaxed, realizing Richard hadn't harmed Pearl. The latter even drove her to the hospitaland did not take advantage of the situation. "You're a good man. She's lucky to have you."
Richard blurted out, "We're married."
"You guys are married?"
"Yes, here's our certificate." With that, Richard produced a marriage certificate from his pocket.
The doctor looked at him in astonishment. So, he had even brought it with him. "Sir, how about Igive you a check-up as well?"
For a moment, Richard was puzzled. He responded earnestly, "No, thank you. Please just focus onher. I'm fine." He wondered if the doctor thought he was drugged too.

The doctor's concerned look caused Richard's face to darken. "Doctor, I'm fine."
"Then why come to the hospital for something trivial? You can handle it at home."
Richard felt uneasy, his mood souring further.
Seeing Richard's change in demeanor, the doctor backed off. "Alright, I won't pry. Let me check onher and prescribe something."
Wary of Richard's reaction, the doctor hurried away.
