the need to ensure she got proper nutrition.

Caught off guard, Richard, who had been lost in the romantic moment, had his expression change
abruptly. He quickly released his grip and dodged her kick. “What are you doing, Pearl?
“Bad guy! You’re as perverted as Hanzel, no, even worse!” Pearl retorted before she could fully calm
down.
Before Pearl could finish her rant, Richard pulled her into a tight hug. “Alright, cut it out. We’re just days
away from our engagement. There’s no point in messing around now.”
Pearl, still trying to shake off the shock from Feather and Hanzel’s situation, was momentarily
speechless when he mentioned their impending engagement.
“What do you mean we’re getting engaged in a few days?”
“Did you forget our agreement at Hazelton the other day? We have to get engaged to put an end to the
rumors,” Richard explained with a calm demeanor but a hint of danger in his eyes. Don’t tell me you
want to go back on your word, huh?”
Pearl shook her head. “No, it’s just that I’ve been preoccupied with something lately. I’m not in the
mood for our engagement.”
“What is it?”
Pearl gave him a quick glance, her expression conflicted. “Esther has a strong liking for Mobius, but
he’s very stubborn and proud. Convincing him won’t be easy. I’ve been thinking about how to make him
keep his promise.”

“That’s easy.” Richard smirked. “Let me help you. I’ll make Mobius propose to Esther in three days.”
Pearl’s eyes brightened, making her look prettier. “Really? Can you do that?”
“But I have a condition. You must get engaged to me right after it’s done.”
Hearing this, Pearl was overjoyed and forgot about her earlier reservations. “No problem. Maybe we
can even arrange a double engagement with them.”
Richard was stupefied as he had never considered a double engagement. It sounded interesting, and
he could use it to his advantage.
With a smile, he leaned in and whispered something in her ear.
“Do you think it will work? Will it make him feel desperate?” Pearl sounded a bit uncertain.
“Well, that’s exactly what we want.” While it may have sounded fine, Richard couldn’t help but feel a bit
uneasy about plotting against his own brother in this way.
Pearl remarked, “What a block of ice!”

“Rivals? Are you talking about Hanzel?”
Richard gave her a sidelong glance. “I’m glad you figured it out. But I’m pretty sure he’s given up on
you now. He’s probably too embarrassed to still have feelings for you.”
As she pondered this, Pearl suddenly recalled the events of that day. “Were you aware of everything
that happened between them?”
Richard lightly tapped the tip of her nose. “You were incapacitated by that drug the other person gave
