Pearl, feeling relieved, lounged on the sofa and casually posted a short video expressing her
forgiveness of Ezra. Afterward, she tossed her phone aside and snuggled into Richard’s arms. Little did
she know that he was having a video conference.

Pearl clenched her fists but maintained her composure. “I didn’t expect this side of you, Raymond. Are
you angry because I refused to marry you?”
“How can you joke at a time like this, Pearl? I brought you here because I need your help.” Raymond
wore his usual smile, tinged with a hint of wickedness.
Pearl cursed inwardly but chose not to provoke him. “What kind of help do you
need?”
“You know about my first love, right? Blake probably told you.”
“She passed away a long time ago, didn’t she?” Pearl’s eyes turned cold.
“Yeah, logically speaking, she’s no longer alive.” Raymond’s gaze drifted into the distance as he
