Chapter 640 Something Left by Me

Preston smacked his hand on the table, glared at Maximilian and said angrily, "How dare you say the

fan is a replication? That is ridiculous! You'd better read some books before talking nonsense!"

Marcus seemed annoyed, and looked at Maximilian and said, "Listen, just keep silent if you know

nothing about it. How can a masterpiece like this be a replication? I beg you to show some respects to

me and Victoria’s friend, Maximilian!"

Laura drew Maximilian aside, and said, "Now, go to the kitchen and help the servant. Stop wasting your

time like an ignoramus."

Thinking that Maximilian was talking nonsense, she didn't want to leave any unpleasant experience to

Preston, who had just offered them a great gift.

Flora was trying to defend Maximilian against injustice, "Auntie Laura, how about we hear Maximilian

out first? Things don't seem so simple since he says so."

"That is not necessary. He has been in our house for so many years and I know clearly what kind of

man he is. Just look at him: he is over conceited and self-satisfied after his recent success, and I really

need to teach him how to be a man of modesty and keep a low-profile." Glaring at Maximilian, Laura

thought there was nothing wrong for her to say it.

Pulling a wry face, Maximilian looked at Laura and shook his head helplessly, heading back to his

room.

Both Victoria and Flora felt sad to see Maximilian gone like that. However, since Laura and Marcus

were holding the same attitude right now, they chose to keep silent and dared not to speak for

Maximilian anymore.

Preston smiled and said, "Please, Auntie and Yncle Griffith, and Victoria, sit down and I would like to

talk with you something more about the home-warming banquet. Besides, I have brought along with me

some fresh organic vegetables and chefs of mine, and I'm wondering if it is possible for me to serve

you a dinner?"

"That will be great. Nowadays, it's increasingly hard to see any organic vegetables on the dining table."

Marcus said pleasantly.

"The organic vegetables I brought here today are not only healthy but also have a flavor that is more

than tasty. Please use my vegetables and my men to present an unforgettable dinner for the guests at

the upcoming house-warming banquet."

Laura agreed with the suggestion without any hesitation, "Great! Just bring your things and chefs in. I

can't wait to enjoy the perfect dinner!"

Since both her mom and dad were on Preston’s side, Victoria had no choice but to shut her mouth and

drink her tea in silence.

When no one's attention was on her, Flora chose to slip away and headed to Maximilian’s room.

She found Maximilian was preparing something big with a art paper stretched out in front of him. "What

are you doing, bro Maximilian?" Flora asked with confusion.

Being aware that Flora was in, Maximilian said, "Good to have you here now. Come and help me grind

the ink, and I'm planning to prove that the painting is a replication.”

"What? But how? We may need an examiner here to help you."

"You know what, those examiners are shit. They can tell nothing but that the fan is the authentic work

of Pa-Ta Shan-Jen."

Flora was dumbed, and then asked in a slow voice, "Which means it is an authentic work, isn't it?"

"Well, to tell you the truth, the fan was something I played with long before. The framework came from

an old fan and the painting was something I copied according to the work of Pa-Ta Shan-Jen. As for the

red jade, well, it was something attached to the fan afterwards." Maximilian said, finishing up his

preparation for painting and getting ready to do something.

Hearing all these, Flora felt incredible and looked at Maximilian with weird eyes, "Well, no mean to

offend, but Maximilian, all the things you have just told me are like a story, you know, kind of ridiculous."

Maximilian pondered for a while, rolled his eyes and said, "Just grind the ink for me quickly, and you will

know everything after I finish it."

"OK, I will do it."

Flora chose to shut her mouth, and then did what Maximilian told her to do.

With his eyes closed, Maximilian brought back the memory of the painting and adjusted his mood.

Replicating a masterpiece was something that could be counted as both extremely easy and hard.

It was easy because one could just replicate each line of the painting, but others could simply tell that it

was a replication; it was hard because not only the lines, the colors needed to be replicated perfectly.novelbin

The artistic conceptions and emotions also needed to be as close as possible to the original works.

It was the moment when Maximilian opened his eyes that something came out of his mind. He then

grabbed the brush pen, dipped some ink and began to paint.

Flora looked tightly at the process of painting, and saw his brash pen running here and there on the

paper. Soon, Maximilian had replicated the landscape figure, which was almost the same as that on the

fan.

Flora looked at the painting and said, "Wow, it does look close to that on the fan, but I can still tell the

differences between them."

"Well, they are the same from the artistic conception perspective. What makes you feel that they are

different is because its ink is not dried yet."

Maximilian said and picked up a hair dryer, beginning to dry the painting. As the moisture was gone,

something happened to the painting, as the color had changed a little bit.

It truly astonished Flora, and she said, "Oh my god! Now, I must say I have no way to tell any difference

between them! So, the painting on the fan is really your works!"

"I have no reason to cheat you on that." Maximilian rolled up the painting and said to Flora with a smile.

"You are the best, Maximilian. How about drawing a portrait for me? I have never tried it before, and

maybe we can do it when sister Victoria is not at home. You know, I want to try the exceptionally artistic

type."

Winking her eyes to Maximilian, Flora was trying to flirt with him.

Smacking the forehead of Flora, Maximilian said, "What the hell are you talking about? There is no

need for anything artistic since I have already tried and got tired of painting."

Flora pouted, and saw Maximilian getting out of the room with his painting.

When Maximilian came to the living room, Preston stared at him and said sarcastically, "Why do you

come back here, Mr. ignoramus?"

"Greetings, Mr. Richardson. I have just finished a painting and want to ask for some advice from you

sincerely."

"A painting? Save it! It's a shame for you to present me any junk you paint." Preston said disdainfully.

Marcus glared at Maximilian and shouted, "Stop wasting our time and go back to handle your own

business!"

"Calm down, dad. Just listen to Maximilian and take a look at his painting." Victoria tried her best to

comfort her dad for Maximilian.

Laura rolled her eyes, and said bluntly, "Then let's just take a look at it, and then we will have a good

reason to drive him away."
