Chapter 1038 Threat

Out of what they had expected, the men around were all stunned by what they saw.

A clear red palm print was clearly seen on the face of Finlay. In pain and fear, he covered his face with

his hands and forced back his tears, glaring at Maximilian. For Finlay's whole life, Maximilian was the

first one who dared to slap him like that.

"How dare..!" Out of anger and grievance, Finlay failed to force out anything from his mouth.

Maximilian answered plainly, "You are the one who started everything. I'm leaving now."

Finlay uncontrollably yelled at his men, "What the hell are you guys doing? Just stop him!"

However, his men, who had just been taught a lesson by Maximilian, did nothing but look at each other

speechlessly and desperately, daring not to block Maximilian's way.

As Maximilian was about to walk out of the door, he bumped into a middle-aged man, who had a sharp

and fierce look in his eyes as if there was nothing that could ever hide from him.

As their bodies bumped with each other, Maximilian frowned and felt there was strong endogenous

power within the man. Luckily, the power hidden inside of Maximilian was strong enough to resist that

of the man and knock him backwards.novelbin

The middle-aged man took several steps backwards and looked at Maximilian astonishingly. As an

expert on internal power, he was stunned to find that this young man was at a high level of that.

Uncontrollably, he looked at Maximilian approvingly, since in his opinion, except for those young

masters of the Berry Family, few young men in W city could ever have such high lever of internal power

as Maximilian did.

At this time, Finlay ran out of the door, and was frightened to see the man. He was Finlay's father.

Trembling, Finlay whispered to his father, "What are you doing here, dad?"

"I just came here to visit you. I heard that you've been doing well in government, and are always busy

helping people with their troubles, is that true?" The middle-aged man smiled.

In anxiety, Finlay offered an awkward smile. Those sayings were all rumors that he made, by which he

could veil his inability and rascalities.

What he had never expected was that his father would ever come around to check all these by himself.

He wiped his forehead, and was too frantic to explain anything.

Suddenly, the middle-aged man's expression became stiff as he noticed the red palm print on his son's

face.

One of the things that he could never tolerate was that someone ever bullied his own son.

"Hey, what happened to your face? Who did that to you?" The middle-aged man asked in a serious and

caring tone. Inside of his head, he sweared he would make the one who did this pay for it.

"Well …" Finlay was for the moment choked up and failed to give any explanation.

Subconsciously, Finlay's eyes shifted to Maximilian. He thought that it might be a chance for him to

fight Maximilian.

"It was him, dad! He did that to me!" Finlay pointed at Maximilian and said.

The middle-aged man found it strange, since he thought that Maximilian was a good-mannered man

when they encountered.

"Tell me more about that." The middle-aged man suppressed his anger and said.

"The truth is that this man is a theft. I took him here and questioned him about his crime, but he just

refused to confess anything, and even dared to slap my face!" Finlay then turned everything upside

down and played innocent.

The middle-aged man frowned, "Even so, I don't think you have the right to solve it in private.

After a while of hesitation, Finlay sighed, "I won't do that again, dad."

The middle-aged man then turned to Maximilian and said, "It's not so appropriate for you to not only

commit crimes but also hit my son."

Maximilian could tell from his tone that he was a reasonable man. He then smiled, "Listen, the whole

thing is explainable, and though it may be hard for you to believe that, I'm still going to tell you the

truth."

The middle-aged man then chose to listen to Maximilian's explanation. After hearing everything from

Maximilian, the man, with the expression on his face turned sullen, could not believe that his son would

ever do something like that.

Finlay, standing aside, was in panic after hearing Maximilian's words. He would be fucked up if his

father ever believed in Maximilian's saying. At that moment, hatred for Maximilian inside Finlay was

burning brightly and furiously.

However, Maximilian disdained to care about any of Finlay's opinions, since Finlay had just pushed him

into trouble.

The middle-aged man turned his sullen stiff face back to Finlay, "Is it true?"

"That's not the truth! I'm your son, and you can't believe in the saying of that stranger!" Finlay tried to

arouse his father's paternal love for him, and at the same time winked at his fellows.

His men then frantically repeated his saying, "Of course, Caden Beadley! Finlay has long been serving

people and earned their trust!"

Hearing both the saying of Finlay and his fellows, the middle-aged man sighed and turned to his son

relievedly, "Fine, it seems that I have mistaken you."

He believed that his son would never do anything like that. Finlay gave a sigh of relief and felt lucky to

successfully get through it.

"Now, dear mister. All I want is an apology from you to my son." The middle-aged man wanted nothing

but an apology from Maximilian to his son, and if the things were exactly as what his son had said, it

would be inevitable for Maximilian to spend a few years time in prison.
