Chapter 1013 Torture

When Zachariah looked into Maximilian's eyes, he shivered because he had a bad hunch that the guy

was after him.

He couldn't help taking a step back, because that would make huge trouble for him.

Zachariah wiped his cold sweat and scolded, "What are you doing? You can't do that to me! I'll let you

suffer if you dare to touch me."

Maximilian laughed when he heard it. The old man was still trying to threaten him. That was absurd.

He would never give those people any chance to take him down. He knew the weak point of the

Dragon Formation, so that trick didn't work for him at all.

He could handle it very easily.

Zachariah felt so nervous when he knew Maximilian could break the Dragon Formation so easily. He

started to regret that he had pissed off such a powerful opponent.

Zachariah wiped his cold sweat and didn't speak for quite a long time.

Within a while, Zachariah and his people were all severely injured, covered with cuts and bruises.

Maximilian mocked, "I thought you were better than this. This is so disappointing."novelbin

Zachariah and his people found this so humiliating. The guy's mock has just torn down the reputation

he had built for decades.

The formation was soon broken by Maximilian. Zachariah looked at Maximilian, gasping, as if he was

watching devil's pawn.

They had never thought that they would lose to Maximilian in such a miserable way. The failure was too

harsh for them to accept.

Maximilian didn't even want to talk to those people after he saw their reaction. Those people deserved

it.

"You wanted a lesson, I've taught you one." Maximilian sneered.

Zachariah took a deep breath and didn't know what to do.

Maximilian threw another punch on Zachariah's back and asked, "Why are you going against me?"

Zachariah swallowed when he saw Maximilian's cold face. He wondered what cruel thoughts the young

man had in his mind.

Zachariah continued, "I think we should keep calm now. It's all my fault."

"Do you really think you can solve all the problems with an apology?" Maximilian asked.

Zachariah was so simple-minded. He thought an apology could solve everything. That was no better

than daydreaming.

Zachariah didn't know what to do. He rubbed his forehead and was totally lost.

Maximilian didn't want to say any more things with him anymore. He added, "Tell me what your ultimate

goal."

Zachariah paused for a second. He scratched his head and wondered what Maximilian wanted to hear

from him. If he could give him that answer, it might be a lifesaver.

"Are you joking? I don't like that. What do you want from me?" Zachariah smiled helplessly.

Brayden sneered at Maximilian, "You know what you've done. How dare you blame us now? This

would have happened if you hadn't killed Jax."

"You traitor! You killed Jax! We have every reason to kill you!" As he said that, other people nodded,

too.

Maximilian was speechless when he heard this. It had been quite a long time after that incident, and

these people still hadn't figured out the one who killed Jax.

"I didn't kill him." Maximilian said calmly.

Those people seemed to be confused at what he said. They stared at Maximilian with a weird look and

wondered if he was lying.

"He died on your doorway! How could it be possible that you're not the killer?" Zachariah yelled the

question out loud.

Maximilian said indifferently, "I know you're all suspecting me, but just think about it... do you have any

other proof other than that? Just because he died on my doorway doesn't mean I killed him."

Other people paused for a second. They were reconsidering what Maximilian just said. The fire of

revenge has devoured their sanity before, and they had never thought about what he said just now.

They glanced at each other and fell in contemplation. Maximilian was right. They had no proof and they

couldn't accuse him just because Jax died there.

There were all silent and didn't know what to do.

Their reactions were just as Maximilian had expected. He knew this would happen. He said to those

people, "Now that you know I didn't kill him, there's no longer misunderstanding between us. You

should make up for what you just did to me."

Zachariah found themselves in a hard position to argue with Maximilian. A while ago, they were so

confident and so aggressive.

Now they couldn't even make up a reasonable excuse.

Maximilian laughed, "I can let you go, but only if you do what I tell you to do."

Zachariah and his people were so glad when they heard that he would release them. They knew they

still had a chance. They wondered what Maximilian would want from them next.

"We would do everything we can." They replied hurriedly.

They would do everything they could to save their own lives. They were so afraid that they would miss

that opportunity.

Maximilian laughed, "It's simple, and you'll be punished if you don't want to do it."

Zachariah and the others were a bit scared upon hearing he said that.

Later, they knew what his request was.

"What? Walking out of here naked?" Zachariah and his people exclaimed. It was winter now. They

would be frozen if they did that.

What was worse, how would they live with the shame if they were seen by other people?

They all wanted to argue.

Maximilian knew what they had in their mind. He said coldly, "Do as I said, or I'll teach you a lesson."

They gasped and knew Maximilian would torture them much more ruthlessly if they didn't agree to do

this.

It was best for them to just bite the bullet and do as he wanted. Life mattered much more than

reputation.

The wind blew, and they all shivered.
