Chapter 2000

Chapter 2000

On this night, Joyce settled Chinn, while Luther communicated with Felix over the phone about theshooting range.

Although the Saunders family's shooting range had been abandoned for a long time, all the facilitieswere still there, just needing a bit of maintenance.

Luther asked over the phone, "Felix, I remember your family has many rare and valuable firearms intheir collection..."

Before Luther could finish his sentence, Felix immediately exclaimed, "Hey, Luther, you're reallypushing your luck! The shooting range has already been given to you! You're still eyeing thefirearms in my house?!"

"What's the use of keeping them? It's a waste of resources. They would serve me better," Luthershamelessly replied.

"Who said I don't need them? Vicki in my family is no slouch in marksmanship," Felix argued.

Luther raised an eyebrow and said, "Look at you being so stingy. Since you didn't ask for all ofthem, keep a few for Vicki and give the rest to me. My wife Joyce and our four children, with Joyce'sgood genetic makeup, both Andres and Alisha want to practice shooting. In the future, together withWilson and Cullen, they will all be excellent marksmen. I need them more than you."

"I..." Felix appeared extremely speechless on the phone and couldn't find the right words.

At this moment, the phone was snatched by Vicki.

"Mr. Warner, take all those firearms and weapons. I don't need them. Collectors' edition handgunsare not practical for me. If I need to use them, I prefer rifles, AKs, or M416," Vicki continued.

"Alright, thank you," Luther chuckled softly.

Vicki continued, "Mr. Warner, we've been quite busy recently, and after Wilson and Cullen comehome, Felix and I haven't checked on them. The last time we saw them was in the hospital'sincubator. When can we set a time to visit your house? See how Joyce is doing?"

"She's recovering well, don't worry. I'll take good care of her. As for Wilson and Cullen, you shouldhave received the invitation. In a few days, the wedding and the full moon banquet will be heldtogether. You must come," Luther replied.

"Of course. I'm sure you're busy preparing lately. We won't disturb you. See you at the wedding,"Vicki said.

At this point, Joyce came into the room and heard that Luther was on the phone. She asked, "Whoare you talking to?"

Luther simply handed her the phone, "Vicki. She's asking about you."

Joyce took the phone from Luther's hand and said, "Vicki, don't worry about me. I saw you in thehospital last time, and your belly has grown. How are you feeling?"

Vicki laughed, "It's okay, carrying around this extra weight every day. It's a bit bothersome, not veryconvenient, but bearable."

Felix's dissatisfied voice came through the phone, "That's our son, what do you mean by 'extraweight'?"

Vicki shot back, "You try being pregnant! Is that not inconvenient? Many restrictions - no smoking,no drinking, no staying up late, can't run around, and even what I eat has to be regulated. You'repractically having me under 24-hour surveillance! Actually, it's almost the same, because no matterwhere I go, you have to follow me."

Felix gritted his teeth and said, "Vicki, these are the bare minimum, aren't they?"

Joyce felt like her ears were about to explode, listening to them argue over the phone. She found itquite ridiculous.

Vicki continued, "Felix, I'm just pregnant! Not in jail! Can you please be reasonable?! If you keepthis up, who would dare to give you a second or third child? Do you even want daughters?"

Felix didn't back down, "Of course I want to! But please, get through the current pregnancy safely.I'm pleading with you, okay? Stop fussing around."

"How am I fussing around? I'm working normally," Vicki raised her voice and got angry.

Joyce felt something was wrong and quickly intervened, "Stop, stop arguing. I understand both ofyour feelings. Vicki, please don't be upset. I'm also in a similar situation now, Luther watches me likea hawk, it's been almost a month and I haven't been out much. I feel like I'm going to mold away."

Vicki finally stopped, "Really, Joyce, are you in a similar situation? Just because, they want you toobserve the traditional postnatal custom?"

"Um, did I make you feel better by saying that?" Joyce smiled, "Actually, I'm worse off. Luther isstricter than Felix by several times. I'm going crazy because of him. Even though Xiao Shao didn'tdo anything wrong, please don't make him suffer."novelbin

Luther glared at Joyce, this was worse off? Clearly, he was doing it for her own good. How was hetorturing her?

Felix added from the phone, "It's still Joyce making sense. I'll give you the guns since you helpedme speak up."

"What guns?" Joyce was puzzled, she hadn't heard Luther's conversation with Felix before.

"Huh, Luther wants me to give you all the limited edition handguns from our collection, don't youknow? Wasn't that what you wanted?" Felix asked, puzzled.

Joyce gave Luther a sideways glance, "It's not right to take advantage of others. You didn't collectthese before, how can you take all of someone else's collection?"

Luther "tch"ed, "It's a waste to leave them with him. Ye Gong likes dragons. I might as well givethem all to my wife."

"Hey, you've gone too far! It's one thing to give a gift, but you not only took them but also mockedme," Felix complained.

"Brother Xiao, I really don't need them. I'm fine, you don't have to listen to him. Even though thechildren want to learn shooting recently, the guns used on the shooting range are different from realguns," Joyce quickly said.

"Forget it, sister-in-law. I sincerely want to give them to you. Indeed, they were all from theSaunders family's previous collection, and they're not used now. Good things can only serve theirpurpose when given to someone who knows how to use them," Felix said generously, "I was justjoking with Luther, don't mind him."

Vicki cleared her throat at this time, "Joyce, I know you two have been quite busy lately. At thewedding, I'll go see Wilson and Cullen. When I see that you've both resolved all your problems andMr. Warner's poison has been dispelled, I'll be truly happy for you."

Joyce knew they didn't know about the incident with Grayson, a near miss disaster.

She also didn't plan to drag them into new whirpools.

So she said seriously, "Vicki, take care of the child in your belly. Now that your belly is big, yourbody will get heavier day by day. There are indeed many things to pay attention to. When we meet,I'll give you some experience. You're going to be a mother, it's only natural for Xiao Shao to benervous."

Vicki impatiently replied, "Got it, even you're nagging at me."

Joyce coughed twice, "Thanks for the news about the shooting range. I'll hang up now, let's talklater."

"Okay, bye," Vicki hung up the phone.

When Joyce returned the phone to Luther, she surreptitiously glanced at him. It seemed that menare all equally nervous about their pregnant wives. She shouldn't provoke him, and should justcomply with him.

She hugged him and coquettishly said, "Let's rest early."

Luther hugged her back and kissed her forehead, "Hmm, okay."
