Chapter 605

Chapter 605 Become Your Student

She sounded stern, but Asher could feel the underlying concern in her words, and it warmed his heart.

“Okay, I promise I won't neglect it. By the time of your next visit, my wound may be starting to scab

over.”

Gwendolyn bobbed her head. “I hope so.”

Holding the first-aid kit, she spun on her heels, strode out of the bedroom, and headed downstairs to

return it to Sienna.

After doing that, she received a text from Cedrick.

Cedrick had driven up Mount Tranquil and was waiting outside Asher's villa.

After bidding goodbye to Sienna, Gwendolyn walked out of the villa.

She got into the car and headed back to Harrick Villa with Cedrick.

Cedrick sensed her unhappiness as she seemed lost in thought with her head lowered. Unaware of the

cause, he gently reached out and held her hand.

“Darling, a penny for your thoughts.”

Gwendolyn snapped back to reality and held his hand tightly. “It just occurred to me that Asher had

changed a lot recently.”

Unlike his previous arrogant self, he had become sensitive, careful, and humbler.

He even shed tears in front of her today.

Cedrick's lips formed a soft smile as he kept stealing glances at Gwendolyn, who was sitting in the

passenger seat. His gaze was gentle as he asked, “Gwen, are you contemplating whether or not to

forgive him?”

Gwendolyn said nothing.

They had been together for a long time, so Cedrick knew her well and could guess what was bothering

her.

He decided to mediate the situation for them.

“Darling, you are well aware that the true culprit here is Evelyn. She had been acting behind Asher's

back and exploiting his power for her own ends. While Asher may have made a mistake, his error lies

in giving her such influence in the first place.”

Gwendolyn lowered her gaze. She seemed unfazed but was actually listening to Cedrick's words

seriously.

Cedrick gave her a look and realized that she wasn't entirely resistant to the idea. He continued,

“You're upset and finding it hard to forgive him. That's because his actions have hurt you deeply. As

someone who loves him, discovering that he sided with Evelyn feels like a betrayal, and forgiveness

doesn't come easily. However, Asher has been remorseful for his actions. He has punished himself,

inflicted harm upon himself, and carried the weight of regret in an effort to seek your forgiveness over

the past year. He may not be skilled with words, which is why he struggled to face you and express his

guilt. But when he took that bullet for you on the island, it was a powerful testament to his love for you.

It showed that he chose you over Evelyn. I understand that he felt indebted to Evelyn's mother for

saving his life, and he never anticipated that Evelyn would turn into the person she became. So—”

Before he could finish, Gwendolyn retracted her hand.

Cedrick was baffled as he could sense her displeasure.

“Darling?”

Gwendolyn turned away and crossed her arms arrogantly. She said darkly, “Mr. Jenson, you seem to

understand the significance of someone who saved a life all too well. Remember, you insisted on

divorcing me to marry Natasha, the one who saved your life.”novelbin

Cedrick tensed up and held his breath.

His complexion noticeably paled as he pulled the car over to the side of the road. With a pleading

expression, he turned toward Gwendolyn and said cautiously, “Darling, we were discussing Asher,

weren't we? Why did you suddenly bring up the past? Our baby is just a little over two months old and

is still so young. You can't bring up past grievances and unsettle me...”

His voice trailed off, and his eyes grew redder as he looked at Gwendolyn.

Gwendolyn calmly responded, “I have never been in a situation where someone saved my life, so I

can't fully comprehend how you men perceive it. Your understanding of Asher's actions made me think

about the past. Does that count as bringing up past grievances?”

Cedrick immediately took responsibility for his mistake. “I apologize for mentioning about life saviors

and unintentionally reminding you of the unhappy past. It was my fault, and I'm truly sorry. I'm willing to

kneel on Lego pieces all night if that's what it takes for you to feel better.”

Listening to his aggrieved tone, Gwendolyn tried to hold back her laughter but failed to do so. In the

end, the edges of her lips curved up.

Cedrick was sharp enough to notice the smile on her lips.

Oh, she's not really angry. She wants to prank me as I keep defending Asher.

His eyes sparkled as he inched nearer to plant a kiss on her cheek. “I know you love me and wouldn't

want to see me in pain.”

Gwendolyn felt her stern facade cracking as she pushed Cedrick's head away. “Enough of that. Let's

hurry up. I'm starving.”

“Got it.”

Cedrick swiftly gave her another kiss and beamed happily like a child.

He started the engine and sped away.

After dinner, they lay on the bed together.

Cedrick was busy with work, while Gwendolyn was busy gaming with Jennifer.

They looked serious.

Half an hour later, Cedrick finished his work and wrapped his arms around Gwendolyn from behind. He

glanced at the game she was playing and dared not disturb her.

After Gwendolyn won the game, Cedrick mustered up his courage and reached out to cover her phone

screen, stopping her from continuing the game.

“What are you doing?”

Cedrick rested his chin on her shoulder lazily. “Darling, how much longer are you going to play this

game? Won't you keep me company tonight?”

Gwendolyn shoved his hand away and tapped the button to continue the game. She replied carelessly,

“I'm keeping you company now, aren't I?”

Cedrick nuzzled against her neck and deliberately blew on her sensitive earlobes. His voice was low

and sexy as he drawled, “Not this kind of company. You know what I'm talking about.”

Feeling itchy, Gwendolyn moved out of the way, her attention focused on the game.

“Didn't we agree not to engage in any strenuous activities tonight and see if the relapse is connected to

our nighttime activities? Have you forgotten about that?”

Cedrick fell silent as he had indeed forgotten about this. After all, his lovely wife was lying right next to

him, but he couldn't kiss her. No men could endure that.

Gwendolyn was busy picking her hero for the next game and didn't even look up. “So stop bothering

me. Tonight, we can't do anything for the experiment's sake.”

Cedrick fell onto the bed, feeling dejected.

Bored, he began scrolling on her phone while Gwendolyn played her game and chatted with Jennifer

gaily.

The more Cedrick thought about it, the more upset he became. He quietly sent Treyton a few texts.

Cedrick: Please keep your fiancée in check. She's interrupting Gwenny and my quality time!

Treyton: ...

Cedrick attached an angry emoji and added: She took Gwenny away from me. Switch off her phone

and tell her to go to bed.

Over ten seconds later, Treyton replied: I dare not do that. You can't offend a woman who's focused on

increasing her rank. I don't want to end up in misery just like you tomorrow.

This time, Cedrick was the one at a loss for words.

His phone beeped again.

Treyton: Don't blame me silently for being useless. If you have the guts, tell Kiddo to stop dragging my

fiancée into playing games.

Fury burned within Cedrick's heart as his desire for victory grew stronger.

Cedrick: What if I can do that?

Treyton: I'll address you as Master for a year and become your student and learn how to discipline a

wife.

Cedrick chuckled aloud and replied: Just you wait.

After their conversation came to an end, he placed his phone down and glanced at Gwendolyn, who

was still gaming. He then got to his feet and headed to the closet.

He deliberately opened the closet loudly and pulled out the custom-made Lego pieces that had not

been used for some time.

Gwendolyn was focused on her game and didn't even bother looking at him. Her attention wasn't on

him.

Frustrated, he took a deep breath and brought the Lego pieces to the bed, placing them in front of

Gwendolyn.

Gwendolyn's attention was attracted by the sudden appearance of the foreign items.

Baffled, she looked up and saw Cedrick looking miserable as he made to kneel on the Lego pieces.

Confused by his actions, she stopped playing the game and stopped him.

“Did you drug your dinner for tonight? Have you gone nuts?”
