Chapter 551 Not Painful But Utterly Humiliating

Chapter 551 Not Painful But Utterly Humiliating

Seeing that their women were both gaming enthusiastically, Cedrick and Treyton waited silently in fear

of spoiling their fun.

One rubbed the tip of his nose and gazed up at the moon in the sky while the other brushed his fingers

across his watch in boredom.

After they had waited for several minutes, a mechanical voice rang out, announcing that the game had

ended in defeat.

Heaving a sigh of disappointment in concert, Gwendolyn and Jennifer started to summarize the reason

for their loss.

“Jennifer, you shouldn't have dealt last hits in the bottom lane during that wave earlier but came over to

provide support. The bounty for killing the enemy hero on the other side of the river was far greater.

Anyway, we've still got a chance of winning this time.”

Jennifer was very much obedient. “Okay. Let's start over again, and I'll listen to you this time, okay?”

Reaching a consensus, the two women geared up to start a new match.

Just then, Cedrick brought his fist up to his mouth and cleared his throat loudly.

Treyton eyed him before immediately following suit at an even louder volume.

The two women begrudgingly raised their heads, only to see that their men were there to pick them up.

“Why have you come, Hubby?” Gwendolyn asked.

Cedrick stared at her, his handsome face as black as thunder. His voice was gentle, yet his words were

disapproving. “Look at the time now. Were you planning to stay out if I hadn't come to look for you,

Darling?”

Closing the game interface, Gwendolyn belatedly took a look at the time. It was only then that she

realized she had been so engrossed in gaming that she forgot the time, and it was already past nine

o'clock.

Nighttime was the peak of her manic episodes. As such, it was indeed too dangerous for her to remain

outside. Furthermore, she had not told her family about her condition because she did not want to

worry them.

If we'd continued gaming for another few hours, Jennifer would've probably been scared witless when

she inadvertently witnessed my manic episode!

She put her phone away before turning to Jennifer beside her solemnly. “Are you feeling better now,

Jennifer?”

In response, Jennifer bobbed her head. “I'm really happy to have gamed with you tonight, Gwendolyn .

But...”

The smile on her face gradually faded. Furtively stealing a peek at Treyton, who was a stone's throw

away, she fiddled with the hem of her shirt uneasily.

He'd be mad when I go back tonight, wouldn't he?

As a matter of fact, Treyton was infuriated. She's a defenseless girl, yet she came to such a deserted

place in the middle of the night. I'd be haunted by regret if she ran into scoundrels! Verily, she doesn't

have any safety consciousness!

His fury seemingly blazed even hotter the further he pondered upon the matter. Taking a few strides

forward, he clutched Jennifer's wrist tightly. “Come. Don't intrude on Cedrick and Gwendolyn here. Let's

go home.”

The man's grip was strong, and Jennifer could clearly sense his wrath. Unfortunately, she could not

break free from his restraint and could only be dragged away. She glanced back over her shoulder at

Gwendolyn in terror, beseeching the latter for help.

Gwendolyn understood her plea for help, but it was their personal matter at the end of the day, so it

was inappropriate for her to interfere. She could only try her best by urging, “Treyton, Jennifer's kind of

slow in academic things. Be more patient and encourage her often. Don't demoralize her. Also, talk

things out at home.”

Treyton grunted in acquiescence, his voice low and grim. “I know. I'll do so.”

After he had said that, he forcibly stuffed Jennifer into his luxurious car.

In the next heartbeat, the roar of an engine broke the silence of the dark night. The luxurious car sped

off like an arrow in the moonlight.

Gwendolyn sighed, worried about how her brother would be able to coax Jennifer at home later.

Seemingly perceiving her worry, Cedrick abruptly interrupted her train of thought. “Don't brood over it

anymore, Gwenny. It's a matter between themselves. You can’t do anything about it, and you have no

right to do so anyway.”

Gwendolyn gave a dip of her head. Naturally, she knew that all too well. Still, she was a touch

concerned. “Treyton appeared livid tonight. Would he have a row with Jennifer when he gets home?”

“I don't think so.” Stepping forward, Cedrick lightly took her hand and made his way back with her.

Gwendolyn snapped her head to him. “How could you be so sure? What did you two talk about when

you came over together tonight?”

Unexpectedly, Cedrick fell silent for a long moment.

Fortunately, we didn't talk about anything much. I merely told him to keep his fiancée in line and

manage his relationship well so as to intrude less on my life with Gwendolyn.

“Hmm? Why aren't you saying anything?”

“Nothing much. We just had a casual chat. I advised him to be gentler with Jennifer.”

At that, relief suffused Gwendolyn. Since he'd said as much, Treyton would surely listen to him.

Subsequently, the two of them got into the car and went back to Harrick Villa.

Considering the late hour, they had no intention of going upstairs. They went straight to the basement

as though it was their bedroom.

Before entering the basement, Gwendolyn fretted, “If I were to have a manic episode tonight, Hubby,

would you be fine fighting with me? Would you be injured? Would you be drained from the weariness?

Could you really manage?”

Cedrick was inexorably taken aback.

There was nothing unusual with the first two questions, but the final two had his brows knit together

and his pride injured slightly.

His competitiveness promptly sparked to life, and he jerked his chin up in a rare show of dominance.

“Are you doubting my stamina, Darling? It looks like I've got to prove myself to you!”

Bursting into giggles, Gwendolyn reiterated once more, “Don't hold back too much with me. In all

things, make sure that you're not injured. As usual, I'm going to check you over for injuries when I wake

up tomorrow. Don't think about fooling me.”

Cedrick slid his hand from her chin to her throat before gently placing it on her lower back, supporting

her slender waist with his palm.

He drew his arm toward himself hard, and Gwendolyn was forced to take two steps forward. She ended

up plastered against his chest, mere inches away from him.

His voice was seductive, as enticing as ever. “You merely want to check me over for injuries, Darling?”

Gwendolyn feigned ignorance. “If not?”

“I thought...” Leaning down, Cedrick lowered his head close to her ear and said something indecent in

a whisper.

“What a filthy mind! Watch out, for I might really take you tomorrow.”

A grin curved Cedrick's lips. “I'd love that.”

With a click of her tongue, Gwendolyn pushed him away lightly. “How shameless...”

While criticizing him, she headed further into the basement. She spread out the mattress and lay down.

Knowing that she would not have long to sleep, she did not wash up, leaving it to Cedrick after her

manic episode.

Meanwhile, Cedrick immediately did the same. He lay down on the mattress and hugged her around

the waist.

“Keep some distance away from me. Aren't you afraid that I'd suddenly slap you in the middle of the

night?” Gwendolyn ordered.

Taking a deep whiff of her fragrance at her neck, Cedrick replied in gratification, “You're still my gentle

goddess before sleep, Gwenny. When you're asleep, I'll put up my guard.”

All right, then. Gwendolyn was aware of his capabilities and knew that it would be difficult to hurt him

for real if he did not allow it.

The two of them slept in each other's arms, chatting before they each drifted off.

Right then, Treyton had already arrived back at the villa. Without a word, he dragged Jennifer upstairsnovelbin

and headed toward the bedroom.

Such fear struck Jennifer at his behavior that she panicked. “S-Slow down. Can you please let me calm

down first? You're scaring me.”

Treyton remained silent, but his pace slowed.

When they reached the bedroom, he plopped down on the bed and placed her face down across his

lap.

Jennifer was wholly bewildered.

She was stunned for two seconds, at a total loss as to the man's intention.

The next moment, however, changed that.

Smack!

Without warning, a broad palm came into contact with her upturned bottom.

Realization belatedly dawned upon her. In a flash, her face flushed bright red. Am I being spanked

now?

“You're a downright pervert, Treyton! Wasn't it a hit on the palm previously? How could you smack...

smack me on the...”

How could he smack me on the butt? While it's not all that painful, it's utterly humiliating! I'm already an

adult. Worse still, I'm not really familiar with him.

At that instant, Treyton was fuming. He restrained her waist that was twisting every which way, but he

ceased swinging his right hand.

“Shouldn't you be punished for running away from home?”

Biting her lower lip in aggravation, Jennifer denied it to the bitter end. “I didn't! I was merely bored to be

at home alone, so I went out and looked for Gwendolyn to have some fun. Not only did you accuse me

wrongly, but you even hit me! You abused me!”

She once said the same thing back before disaster struck her, and she lost her memories.

Treyton's nose stung. Doing the same as he did back then, he somberly explained, “I was merely

teaching my disobedient fiancée a lesson. It was grounded in my love for you. I wouldn't have truly hurt

you. All I wanted was for you to realize your mistakes.”

Jennifer pouted in sheer chagrin. “But you simply raise your hand against me without listening to my

explanation. You've gone too far.”

Treyton listened as she repeated the exact same words she said in the past. Yet, there was no reaction

on her part.

She has really forgotten everything that transpired in the past four years and no longer remembers the

love between us. In the blink of an eye, his mood took a nosedive.

“I'm sorry... I was scared that you'd leave me, afraid that you'd disappear again. It was my problem. I

failed to keep my emotions in check.”

Having the upper hand, Jennifer furiously scrambled up from his lap. Just when she was about to tear

into him, she noticed his red-rimmed eyes and distinct dejection.
