Chapter 526 Kinky Dresses

Chapter 526 Kinky Dresses

“Are you not feeling well? Do you want to visit a doctor tomorrow and do a full body checkup?” Cedrick

immediately replied with a solemn look on his face.

Gwendolyn rejected at once, saying, “Never mind. Didn't Joshua do a checkup for me when I bit you

last time? He said I was very healthy and there was nothing serious. The reason why I don't seem to

be able to control my emotions is due to my excessive worrying and lack of sleep during my pregnancy

days. I don't think it will help even if we go for another checkup. I could just be overthinking.”

Even with the woman's reassurance, Cedrick was still worried.

“I think it's better to go for another checkup. Although it could be just a minor problem, if we don't get it

treated, it could become serious later on.”

“There's really no need for that. After all, Joshua is one of the best medical professors in the country. If

he couldn't find the cause of the problem, I don't think any other doctors would be able to come up with

a diagnosis. If that's the case, why should we waste time and energy?” Rubbing the man's bruise

gently, Gwendolyn continued, “Let me ask the hotel staff to get us an anti-inflammatory cream. I'll apply

it for you later.”

“No! This hotel belongs to Neal. If he knows that you asked his staff to buy anti-inflammatory cream, he

will know that I got beaten up.”

Gwendolyn gave it some thought and agreed that it made sense.

“How about you stay in bed and I go get it myself?”

Just as she turned around and was about to stand up, Cedrick wrapped his arms around her waist and

stopped her from leaving.

“Have you forgotten that I was from the military? I'm not that weak. It's just a minor wound and would

take me at most two days to heal. Darling, if you really care about me, you should cancel the flight

tomorrow morning and accompany me to Astoria's largest mall to shop instead, just like we planned.

What do you say?”

Gwendolyn said nothing in response.

“Let's return to Chanaea two days later after we are done with our shopping. If you're worried about our

babies, you can video call Charles before we sleep and check on them every day,” the man continued.

Gwendolyn looked down at Cedrick, who was still hugging her waist, and asked curiously, “Are you not

jealous anymore? I wonder who it was who threw a fit earlier just because I had a video call with

Charles.”

Cedrick tightened his hold on the woman as if he was staking his claim on her. “Anything can be

discussed as long as you accompany me shopping tomorrow and wear the dress I like.”

Gwendolyn let out an amused giggle and caressed her husband's cheeks as she replied, “Sure. Let's

go shopping tomorrow, then. What's so special about this dress?”

A mysterious smile appeared on Cedrick's face before he leaned in and whispered something in

Gwendolyn's ear.

Feeling confused, she asked, “When did I agree to visit that kind of shop with you? A shop that sells

kinky dresses?”

“You promised me last night. Darling, you can't play with my feelings,” Cedrick replied, fixing a

displeased gaze on the woman.

“Show me the evidence.” Gwendolyn was adamant about denying it.

Cedrick was rendered speechless.

Darn! I should have recorded what she said last night.

How am I supposed to produce any evidence?

His heart sank as he buried his face in his wife's arms dejectedly and harrumphed softly.

Gwendolyn could not help but chuckle, amused by the man's childish yet adorable antics.

Feeling bad for hitting Cedrick and wanting to make up for it, she said, “All right, fine. Let's buy that

dress. However, it's on one condition. I will only consider wearing the dress and having some fun withnovelbin

you after we see Benny and Zendy in person and make sure that they are okay. Can you accept that?”

Understanding her feelings, Cedrick answered, “Of course. Whatever you say.”

As a reward for him, Gwendolyn lifted his chin and planted a kiss on his lips. “Good. Let's go to bed

early tonight.”

Remaining still, the man said, “I can't move. My butt hurts. Darling, will you bathe me?”

Gwendolyn hesitated for a moment before relenting. “Okay, I'll give you a bath.”

After Gwendolyn helped him up, Cedrick, who wanted to show the woman that he was in pain,

pretended to limp all the way to the bathroom with a satisfied smirk on his face.

“Darling, shall I get two movie tickets tomorrow? We can watch a movie and enjoy some Astorian

cuisine.”

“Sure.”

Cedrick's lips curled upward as he leaned lazily on his wife's shoulders.

After canceling their six o'clock morning flight, Gwendolyn had also turned off the alarm, which was

supposed to ring at four in the morning to wake her up.

At around nine-thirty the next morning, the couple woke up naturally after a good night's sleep.

“Darling, I'm gonna go get ready first. You can sleep for five more minutes,” Cedrick said groggily.

After their routine morning kiss, the man got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to wash up while

Gwendolyn continued to sleep.

However, shortly after, she was awakened by Elven's call.

While looking at her phone in a semi-conscious state, Gwendolyn suddenly remembered that she had

previously entrusted Elven to investigate Annie. Immediately, she snapped awake and sat up before

answering the call.

On the other end of the line, Elven said, “Mrs. Jenson, she was indeed present at the business gala

organized by Mr. Jenkins in Salinsburgh a while back. Also, according to your instructions, I've also

completed my investigation on Ms. Annie. I've sent the information to your email. You might want to

check if you have received it.”

“Well done.”

With Elven still on the line, Gwendolyn held her phone with one hand and grabbed her tablet from the

bedside table with her other. She proceeded to log in to her email account and opened the attachment.

On the document, the woman's full name was stated as Annie Steinfeld. She was from Ospea and was

twenty-one years old.

Her parents were just ordinary citizens of Ospea who had their own business. They had both passed

away but details of their deaths were not stated.

She had studied in Chanaea for a few years and had attended the best college in Salinsburgh.

Is it really a coincidence that she lived in Salinsburgh before?

However, if she isn't Annie but is Evelyn instead, how did she get to know Paul, who's considered

royalty in Ospea?

Although Gwendolyn was unable to solve the mystery no matter how hard she thought about it, she

was not willing to let Annie off just like that.

For some reason, she just really did not like the girl.

Despite Annie's impeccable manners and innocent appearance when Gwendolyn first met her, she

simply did not feel good about her.

It was a strange feeling that she was unable to pinpoint.

For caution's sake, Gwendolyn decided to continue investigating.

“Elven, can you find out when Annie's parents passed away and the reason for their deaths? Also,

since she studied and graduated abroad previously, try to find a picture of her in her graduation robe.”

“Okay.”

Right after she hung up, Cedrick walked out of the bathroom.

“Gwenny, let's video call Charles after you finish washing up. We should check on our babies before

heading out.”

Gwendolyn nodded, feeling satisfied with the man's arrangement.

Benedict's and Zendaya's fevers had subsided, but they still seemed quite weak. It was likely that they

were exhausted from battling their fevers throughout the night.

The two little ones were lying in their crib while Charles, Nico, and Summer tried to comfort them.

The nursery was filled with a lively atmosphere.

Gwendolyn felt much more at ease having seen her twins. After putting on some light makeup, she

headed to the mall with Cedrick.

It was the largest mall in Astoria that was frequented by the wealthy and was filled with shops selling all

sorts of merchandise.

Gwendolyn bought some toys for the little ones, an antique cigarette holder for Nico, and a set of

crystal jewelry for Summer.

Cedrick counted the shopping bags and asked tentatively, “Gwenny, didn't you say that you were very

grateful to Charles for helping to take care of our kids? Why didn't you get him something as well?”
