Chapter 359

Charles died with a smile on his face.

He seemed to have died with no regrets.

Gwendolyn’s knees went weak, and she shut her eyes because she couldn’t bear to see the pitiful

sight.

The memories she had with him when they were children came rushing into her mind, and she was

overwhelmed with sorrow.

She had killed the man who had loved her dearly for the past decade.

While leaning against Cedrick’s chest weakly, she uttered between her sobs, “Take me away, Ceddy.

I’m never stepping foot in Erihal ever again.”

Cedrick kissed her forehead tenderly and comforted her, “It’s all over now. He gave you his blessing,

and you gave him yours. This is how he wanted things to end.”

Cedrick knew Charles had planned things out all along. Charles was a stubborn and prideful man. He

lost everything when he lost Gwenny. He had nothing left to live for. I did him a great favor by letting her

kill him. As for Her Highness, I guess I’ll have to take things one step at a time.

Cedrick hugged the emotional Gwendolyn tightly and ordered his men to deal with Charles’ body

before sending it back to the Newton family in Chanaea.

After dealing with the aftermath, Cedrick carried Gwendolyn in his arms and left Flola Grand Cathedral

without looking back.

Nico woke up on the private plane on their way back, and Nicole was the one who bandaged his

wounds.

The Super Antiviral was kept safely in a freezer, and they planned to hand it over to the laboratory to

check the composition upon arriving in Chanaea.

Gwendolyn had already removed her wedding gown and changed into a fur coat. However, she was

still wearing the flats Charles had helped her put on.

At that moment, she looked devastated as she stared at the clouds outside the plane.

Cedrick was hugging her, but he kept silent because he knew she was still bothered by what had

happened in the cathedral.

Nico and Nicole were also in the first-class cabin with Cedrick and Gwendolyn.

Unlike Cedrick and Gwendolyn, Nico and Nicole were rather cheery.

“Nico, the soldiers were all saying you were their captain! You’re so amazing!” Nicole exclaimed.

Nico felt awkward because Cedrick and Gwendolyn were present. “The most amazing person on this

plane is Ms. Gwendolyn, followed by Boss. I’m nothing compared to them.”

“Is that so?” Nicole glanced at Gwendolyn and flashed a friendly smile. “Nico, you never told me your

full name. What’s your last name?”

Nico was stumped. Neville and Swain are code names. Neville’s real name is Finn Johnson, and

Swain’s real name is Jason Yablon. I never had a real name because Boss picked me up near the

borders when I was ten. Nico is the only name I have…

“About my name—”

Before Nico could finish his sentence, Cedrick answered, “His last name is Jenson.”

Nico turned toward Cedrick instantly and looked at him puzzledly. “Boss?”

Cedrick flashed a faint smile and uttered in a deep voice, “I’m planning to welcome you to the Jenson

family once we arrive at the Jenson residence. You’ll be considered as my dad’s adopted son. In other

words, you will not only be my subordinate, but you will also be my younger brother, Nico Jenson.”

Nico’s eyes reddened, and he was tearing up. “You’re so nice to me, Boss…”

If Gwendolyn wasn’t resting in Cedrick’s arms, Nico would’ve rushed over to Cedrick and hugged him.novelbin

Seeing the expression on Nico’s face, Cedrick teased, “Stop looking like you’re going to cry. You’re

embarrassing yourself in front of the girl next to you.”

Nico immediately held back his tears and put on a serious expression. He turned toward Nicole and

said joyfully, “You heard him! I’m going to be a member of the Jenson family!”

Nicole smiled and felt happy for Nico. “Congratulations, Nico!”

The three of them were smiling, but Gwendolyn wasn’t.

Upon settling the matters in Erihal, Gwendolyn finally felt relieved. At the same time, she was dog-tired,

and she didn’t even have the energy to utter a single word.

While the trio were chatting away joyfully, Gwendolyn dozed off in Cedrick’s arms.

Cedrick lowered his gaze to look at her. That was when he sensed something was amiss. “What’s the

matter with Gwenny? She seemed very weak ever since we boarded the plane. How is she still

sleeping when we’ve been making so much noise?”

“You don’t know, Boss? Ms. Gwendolyn’s pregnant,” Nico said.

Cedrick was stunned. Pregnant? How is it possible? I’ve been taking contraceptive pills for men!

Nico noticed Cedrick’s baffled look, so he explained, “It’s just my estimation, but I think she’s been

pregnant for three and a half weeks! It’s not surprising that Lord Gerhardt did not tell you about it.

When Ms. Gwendolyn discovered she was pregnant, she led everyone to believe that the child was

Charles’ so that she could keep the baby safe.”

Cedrick lowered his head and remained quiet. Three and a half weeks ago? That was when Gwenny

wore the cat costume. I didn’t plan to have sex with her that day… This is all my fault.

Nico noticed that Cedrick was unhappy, so he quickly said, “Boss, don’t get the wrong idea. She was

merely putting on a show. Charles never laid a finger on Ms. Gwendolyn over the past two weeks. The

child is definitely yours!”

“I know.” Cedrick frowned deeply and caressed Gwendolyn’s cheek.

His frown deepened when he heard Nico telling him that Gwendolyn experienced pregnancy symptoms

such as morning sickness and drowsiness as early as two and a half weeks into the pregnancy. Why

did she experience those symptoms so quickly? That can’t be a good thing… I hope the child will be

born into this world in a healthy state so that Gwenny won’t suffer from this.

Meanwhile, the entertainment industry in Chanaea was welcoming the new year with all sorts of

awards shows.

The movie Jennifer starred in, Ancient Legend, was well-received and rated highly. As a result, she

won the Best Actress Award.

After the awards ceremony, Jennifer, her assistant, and her manager brought Jennifer’s trophy back to

their lounge.

As they entered the room, someone from outside held the door to prevent the assistant from closing

the door shut.

“Wait!”

It was a pleasant voice of a man.

The smile on Jennifer’s face vanished at once. That voice is so familiar. That’s definitely Walter.

Walter was nominated for an award, but he didn’t win it.

With a gleeful smile on his face, he walked in and looked at Jennifer, who was sitting in front of the

dressing table. “Jennifer, you’ve improved a lot over the past few months! Congratulations on winning

the Best Actress Award!”

Jennifer touched up her makeup expressionlessly and ignored his presence.

The assistant and the manager weren’t friendly toward Walter either. His presence ruined the mood!

As someone who was as bold as brass, Walter seemed to be immune to the awkward atmosphere. He

approached Jennifer and squatted down next to her. While looking at her passionately, he apologized,

“I made a mistake back then, Jennifer. I was blind, and I took you for granted. I only realized how

deeply I care about you after you left me. Would you please forgive me?”
