Back at Riverside Garden, I thought about my conversation with Christopher in the car, feeling much lighter, as if a heavy stone had been lifted from my heart.
After taking a shower, I was about to make some instant noodles when Elissa suddenly appeared in my living room, slumped on the couch, groggily looking at me.

I took a deep breath. “Okay.”
