"Alright, you said it. If you break your promise, you'll have to sever an arm for me." After Jonny warnedhim, he turned around to leave.
The people behind him followed him and left.
The living room fell silent.

This woman had harmed Jean before, yet she still wanted to continue harming him?
"I'm your brother's girlfriend and also your sister-in-law. This is your brother's house. Why can't I behere? Plus, watch your mouth. Marie was not afraid of her.
Nina was not going to pay any attention to her. She looked at Jean instead and asked, "What exactlydid you promise that hooligan?"

Marie continued to deny it. She shook her head and endured the prickling pain on her face while herhatred for Nina filled her heart. "No, she's ruining our relationship on purpose by spreading lies. I'veloved you for so long. How could I do such a thing? If she really had evidence, she would've taken itout to stop us from the very start instead of waiting until now. She's doing it on purpose."
Jean thought that she had a point and looked at Nina suspiciously.
Nina knew that he believed in Marie's bullsh*t. She internally cursed at his stupidity.
