Chapter 998

"Oh, okay, no worries," Grace agreed instantly. "Just focus on what you have to do. Maria is really well-behaved. | can take careof her for you."

"Thank you," Maria's mother sounded like she was close to choking up, but she quickly regulated her emotions which showedthat she was a strong woman. "My daughter might not take it very well as she's very sensitive. She's never really been separatedfrom me throughout these years until | returned to the country recently for work. She probably hasn't gotten used to the newenvironment, so I'm worried she'll cry at night later."

"Oh, it's okay,” Grace said. "I will help you to calm her, don't worry about it. Rest assured that my two sons will help to take careof her as well. If you're still worried, feel free to call me anytime."

"No, there's nothing to worry about," Maria's mother said. "My name is Yvonne Attwood, so I'll count on you to take care ofMaria."

"Okay, sure," Grace agreed immediately.

"Is she doing okay now?" Yvonne still sounded concerned after all, which was a normal occurrence for mothers, where theywould say that they're relieved just to end up remaining worried.

"She's doing fine. She's currently eating now," Grace answered. "I'm not sure what the children are talking about now, though, but they're all happily enjoying themselves. I'll send you some photos soon so you can feel less worried about her."

"Thank you.” Yvonne was close to choking again. "Maria has never slept on her own before. I'm afraid that she won't dare tosleep on her own."

"No worries. I'll stay with her," Grace volunteered. "Don't worry, I'll take care of her as if | was taking care of my own daughter."

She understood what it felt like to be a single mother as she had been through the same thing in the past. There were timeswhen she really couldn't handle it without Alice's help, so she understood that Yvonne probably encountered something difficultand couldn't disengage herself from it.novelbin

"Thank you so much, Mrs. Jones. | really don't know how | can express my gratitude towards you. Again, thank you. | won't bepicking up Maria tonight then. Please inform her that I'll be sure to visit her at the kindergarten tomorrow morning."

"Okay, no problem. Please rest assured," Grace responded. "Grace Smith, by the way."

"You are such a good person," Yvonne said gently.

"Thank you," Grace felt shy and said. "So | guess that's it for now. I'll send you some photos soon.""Okay, you can add me on WhatsApp."

"Alright."

Grace had a lot of questions in her mind, but there was only so much that she could have said, "If you need any help from us,feel free to call me if we can help in any way at all."

"Thank you, it's more than enough for you to help me look after my child for the night. I'm sorry but | have to go now." Yvonnequickly hung up the phone.

Grace heard her suddenly hang up her phone. It seemed like something urgent had occurred already.

Heinz looked at her in a seemingly helpless manner as he smiled. "Are you secretly treating Maria's mother as your cousin'sgirlfriend?"

"Partially, | guess." She continued, "Even if she wasn't, | will always do my best if someone ever requested my help."He gazed at her, "Is it because you understand what's it like in her shoes?"

"Yeah," she nodded. "Indeed, we've both been through lives as single mothers. | understand how tough it can get to work andtake care of a child at the same time. If it wasn't for Alice, | really wouldn't have been able to persevere through."

Heinz hugged her and apologized, "Sorry, it's my bad."

She was startled for a while before realizing why he apologized. She smiled a little and shook her head, "It's just destiny; it's notyour fault. If it wasn't for you, how would we ever get two cute children like Little Gary and Ernest? I'm who | am today becauseof all the pain I've been through. Without them, | wouldn't have understood the difficulties of life."

"Silly girl," Heinz held her tightly.

She leaned against him and said, "Hold me tight. I'm a little tired. I'll take a few pictures for Maria's mother.""Okay."

Just like that, she took a few pictures of the children, then sent them over to Yvonne after adding her on WhatsApp.However, Yvonne did not reply to her, which indicated that she was really occupied.

Heinz held her close the entire time as they sat in a corner of their backyard, staring lovingly at the

children as they ate and played around.

"At this age, they have nothing to worry about. It's truly the best age,” Grace sighed.

"I'm afraid not," he looked at Lowell. "He hasn't been talking much throughout the whole night."

She looked over and saw Lowell sitting quietly. However, he still cared towards the children as he helped them get food andbeverages. It was just that he had not talked much.

"He just lost his mother. It is really difficult for a child at this age. It's already good enough that he can do whatever he's currentlydoing.

Heinz sat her down on a chair, "You should rest for now. What do you want to eat? | can get them for you.""I'm not hungry," Grace shook her head.“Haven't you been often hungry recently?" He was shocked that she was no longer hungry.

"Is that a good thing or bad thing? Do you need a doctor?" He asked immediately.

"No need," Grace shook her head. "Just a simple check up will do, don't worry about it." "Did you also have very few pregnancysymptoms when you were pregnant with Little Gary and Ernest?" He asked.

Grace nodded, "They were considered to be very mild, especially when compared to those who suffered so much from vomiting. He looked at Little Gary and Ernest and muttered, "Oh no, could this mean that you're pregnant with another little boy?"

"Why are you still concerned over thechild's gender? Whether it's a boy orgirl, it's a blessin toysigraaame mate aren n- minded. "What if | don't want to go with the flow?" Heinz smiled, "Is there anything else | can do?"

She didn't know whether to laugh or cry as she looked at him, "You're making yourself sound so pathetic. Are you surrenderingyourself to fate?"

"What other options are there if |don't do so?" Heinz smiled and said,"It doesn't really matter what | preferanyway. In my family, there
