Chapter 992

Grace and Heinz exchanged glances with each other without saying a thing.

Well, of course.

It was indeed a plan that targeted Little Gary.

This little guy had been bullying a little girl in kindergarten, bullied his own dad, and now, he started to rebel against his mommy.Heinz felt an increasingly immense pressure as a father.

“He's so sharp-witted that he could even sense that he was being targeted. It looks like it'll be hard to cover this up," he thoughtas he stared at the little guy in front of him.

"Eh? Old Heinz and Mommy? Why did you two exchange glances without talking?" Little Gary had already noticed their discreetbody languages. It seemed as if they communicated through telepathy. Just because he was young, it did not mean that he wasnot sharp enough to have noticed little details such as these.

Of course, he would have sensed something going on.

"Sorry, what?" Grace responded nonchalantly as she took a look at him, "Do focus on your food during meal times."“Mommy, liars will turn into Pinocchio!" He protested instantly.

Immediately, Grace started coughing to the point she almost choked herself.

She thought to herself, "This little guy is really intelligent and sensitive."

“Mommy, is everything alright?" Little Gary asked in a concerned manner.

"Don't worry, I'm fine." She merely coughed twice. Thank God she managed not to choke, otherwise that would be horrible.

However, right after that, he continued questioning, "Mommy, people who secretly feel guilty tend to cough, so why don't youcome clean with the truth? You were targeting me, right?"

"Why? Are you feeling guilty?” She wasn't dumb either. She stared at him in a serious manner, "You've been going on and onabout this for so long while Ernest and Lowell remained completely quiet. Out of everyone here, you're the one who's been superthrilled about this. Gary Smith, why don't you tell me if you are the one feeling guilty instead?"

Little Gary's eyes appeared artful for a moment.Indeed, he was feeling a little guilty so he lowered his head as he didn't dare to stare at his mother any longer.

It felt like something wasn't right that day, as if Mommy and Old Heinz found out something. Worse still, it felt like he wasn't ableto get a grip and take charge as he usually did.

He sensed that something went wrong, but at the same time he couldn't pinpoint what exactly went wrong. "What is going on?"He wondered.

Something must have gone wrong.

“What is there for me to feel guilty about?" He countered immediately, "Mommy, don't change the topic okay. Tell me, why haveyou guys been targeting me?"

"| got it!" After remaining in silence the entire time, Ernest said, "Daddy and Mommy must have overheard our conversation andare worried that you would start a puppy love with that little girl. That must be why they've been targeting you."novelbin

Feeling stressed, Heinz frowned as the veins beneath his forehead twitched. "D*mn it, these two guys are really bright," hethought.

"Nope!" He shook his head, "I'm not worried about puppy love since the both of you aren't girls, so | won't have to worry aboutyou two being taken advantage of by other boys. In fact, | can't wait for you two to settle down as soon as possible, so that youguys could stop fighting for your mommy with me.

"Old Heinz," Little Gary widened his eyes as he glared at him, "You're so evil. | can't believe that you're really hoping for us toquickly get wives so that we won't be the third wheels between you and mommy."

Heinz was startled. This little guy could always twist his words around to get back at him, so he felt at a loss for words at this moment.

Little Gary merely brushed it off though. He said as he looked at Grace, "Those families with daughters are going to be soterrified of you guys. Looking at how you guys are behaving now, | bet Mommy must be pregnant with a little girl. It must be alittle sister as a revenge against you, Old Heinz, since you don't seem to care about your sons. Only then will you understandwhat it's like to worry over a daughter."

Heinz immediately thought of a good counter against these accusations.

"I'm not worried. In fact, I'll be delighted to have a daughter since she'll be well protected by an understanding uncle like Lowell,as well as bossy, domineering brothers like the both of you. Instead, | only pity those girls without a dad or brother to stand up forthem. Alas, how sad must it be to get bullied without having anyone to defend them!"

Indeed, his message was intended for Little Gary.Little Gary's eyes went wide, suspicions arose in him.In a rare moment, he stared at Heinz without talking back to him.

After keeping quiet the whole time, Lowell said, "Don't worry, Grace and Heinz. Rest assured that I'll do my best to protect yourlittle baby."

"Mommy, Daddy, I'll also protect my siblings the best | can," Ernest promised as well.

“Both of you are so sweet and well- behaved," Grace praised Lowell and Ernest. After all, as mature as they may be, they werestill kids who would appreciate praises and encouragement.

Little Gary still appeared to be in some serious, deep thought. Who knew what was going on in that little brain of his. After dinner, everyone got ready to rest.

Grace chatted with Lowell.

When Heinz got up, Little Gary approached him and stared at him with mixed emotions.

Heinz knew that this little guy must have looked for him to have a talk, and yet he struggled with how to start. He looked reallycute with that awkward behavior of his.

After taking a deep breath, Little Gary finally asked, "Old Heinz, are you free?"Heinz raised his eyebrows, "Why?"

"Nope," Heinz immediately answered with a serious tone.

Little Gary stared at him with those big eyes of his and found himself stuttering, "Erm, then, when will you be free?”"I'm afraid I'll be very busy tonight," Heinz answered.

Instantly, Little Gary rolled his eyes.

"What seems to be the matter here?"Heinz asked and smiled slig ly (his

"If you're free, let's have a private conversation in your study room.” Whatever Little Gary wanted to ask about, he did not wantanyone else to know about it.

"I'll be busy," Heinz rejected him directly. Usually, he would have agreed to all of his requests, but he did not want to agree withhim this round.

He felt that he had to maintain his dignity as a father. Otherwise, this little guy wouldn't fear anyone in his life at all.As such, he was going to remain indifferent with Little Gary for the time being."Then why are you wasting my time?" Little Gary seemed to have gotten increasingly anxious.

Heinz merely shrugged it off, "I'm going to be busy from now onwards. You can wait for me in the meantime. I'll let you know if |happen to be free later."

"What exactly are you busy with?"

"I'm going to give your mommy a massage. Is that considered to be busy enough for you?" Heinz asked in return.
