Chapter 948

Grace hesitated for a moment, then she nodded honestly.Heinz pursed his lips and lowered his head to look at her belly. He sighed and said, “It's my fault for starving you and the baby."

"No worries."Grace shook her head, feeling much more composed. "I have no idea what's going on with me. Maybe it's becauseof my pregnancy hormones. That is why I'm feeling a little more emotional these days."

"It was my fault. | overlooked this." Heinz reached out for Grace's hand as they exited the bedroom together. "I realized this whenmy father had a sudden loss of speech. When | dropped him off at the hotel, | could see that he really wanted to come backhome. However, | immediately dismissed the idea when | realized that we were being used as pawns."

"It's good for him to stay in a hotel. | even helped him pay off his debts. As for other things, | don't want to ask him anymore."

"If he needs my help, | will do my best to help him. However, | don't think it's possible for him to return to that happy life." "I'vemade up my mind after visiting my mother's grave. If | cared for my father, would | be worthy of my mother?"

"But what kind of son am | if | don't care about him? After all, he is the reason | am here today."

"| just want to make sure my conscience is clear. | will try my best not to get involved the other things."Grace nodded.

Heinz led her to the patio outside. The butler had already prepared a meal forthem.

"Sir, Alex was the one who arranged this for you since you haven't had anything to eat. Madam Smith did not eat much for dinnerjust now. The two of you can enjoy the meal together," the butler said.

“Alright, thank you. Just put it on the table. You can go about your business." Heinz ordered."Yes, sir." The butler quickly left.Only Grace and Heinz were left at the patio. Grace's stomach began to growl again.

She no longer cared that her stomach was growling after smelling the food on the table. She quickly pulled her hand out fromHeinz's and made a beeline for the table.

"Slow down."

Heinz did not stop her. He just smiled at her as he watched her walk towards the table, gently reminding her not to be tooanxious.

As soon as she sat down at the table, she picked up a fork and said to Heinz, "Come on, hurry up. Quickly get some food in you. It's getting late and I'm a little hungry.”

Heinz also sat down, revealing his strong chest beneath the bathrobe.

Grace took a good look at it and then said, "Well, can you please change into something more decent before you have yourdinner?"

Heinz lowered his head to look at his current state, then shook his head and said, "Forget it. It's just the two of us here. We'll beheading back to the bedroom once we're done anyways. There's no point changing. I've been standing all day. I'm feeling a littletired.”

There was indeed a hint of exhaustion in his voice.Grace's heart ached when she heard this.

“Furthermore, | don't mind that you can see. You've seen it all anyways." Heinz's voice was much lower. He spoke deliberatelywith a hint of laziness in his voice that could make one tremble.

Grace lowered her head. Her heart skipped a beat. She picked up her fork and started eating quickly.

The two of them did not waste much time. As soon as they were done with their meal, they immediately went back to thebedroom.

Grace lay down on the bed, followed by Heinz. Suddenly, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist. She was trapped in hisarms.

She panicked a little and asked, "Heinz?""| want a hug.” Heinz's cool breath instantly shrouded her. She could feel his hot breath on her ear as it tickled her.Grace's entire body went stiff.

Heinz said in a mellow and charming voice, "Don't worry. | won't mess around. | know the first trimester is the most important partof the pregnancy. We can try once you've reached the second trimester, but | won't take too many risks. Don't worry. You and thebaby's health are my utmost priorities."

When Grace heard him, her body relaxed a little. She then turned around and looked at him.He simply looked down at her.

The soft light from the lamp fell on her beautiful face. Her little straight nose had cast a shadow on her face, which made hernose bridge a little 3D.

Her eyelashes were long and dense. They fluttered gently, like the wings of cicadas.

"Thank you," Grace said. Then, she continued in a melodic voice, "Heinz, although | don't know how to tell you, but | feel verysorry for your mother. My mother's existence has upset you and has caused your mother to live a painful life. She left with a lot ofregrets. | feel deeply sorry for her."

"It has nothing to do with you. In fact, it has nothing to do with your mother. These were my parent's choices."

“My mother had unrequited love. Even if my father had not met your mother, he might have met another woman. My father doesnot have much feelings for my mother, so even if your mother did not exist, he might have another woman. So, | have completelyaccepted this fact."

Grace was stunned. She turned around and lay face-to-face with Heinz. She wrapped her arms around Heinz's waist and buriedher face in his neck.

“Heinz, thank you. Thank you for being able to distinguish between kindness and hatred."

"Silly girl." Heinz wrapped one arm around her and held her hand with the other. "It has nothing to do with you. There is probablyno one as unlucky as you are in this world."novelbin

Grace was stunned, then she laughed. "Are you trying to say that I'm an unlucky child?"“A very unfortunate, unlucky child." Heinz was very straightforward. "I'm sure you will attain happiness in the future."

It was because he would give her happiness.
