Chapter 911

As she spoke, she walked over.

She picked up a few bags and then went back to the kitchen.

Nelson looked at her and felt a little surprised. It seemed that she really had changed.

This was a good thing.

After all, it was the woman Jensen loved. Alice was the love of Jensen's life. How could they, as his parents, oppose it?

Truly intelligent parents would join their son in loving his wife. Whatever those kinds of parents did was wise. Nelson believedthat Rosalie would understand this.

This was a good change.Perhaps he really could stand to be a little more optimistic.Soon, Nelson brought everything into the kitchen.

“Nelson, wash these fruits and put them in the living room." Rosalie emptied the sink, put a basin in, filled it with water, andwashed the fruits for Nelson. "I'll pick and clean the vegetables. It's getting late, and they should be back soon. Hurry up."

"Got it!" A smile appeared on Nelson's face, and he said with great joy, "I'll hurry up and wash them."

Rosalie crouched down to pick out the vegetables. Meanwhile, Nelson washed the fruits and placed them on a plate, which hethen brought outside and placed in the living room.

The two of them were busy doing their tasks. Nelson lowered his head to glance at Rosalie several times, and he felt somewhattouched.

He had been looking forward to seeing this for a long time. He only hoped that Rosalie would change somewhat and becomecalmer instead of being melancholic.

While they were busy, there were a few knocks on the door.Rosalie paused for a moment, then said, "They're here. Go and invite them in."Nelson was stunned and asked, "Me? Are you not going to do it?"

"No." Rosalie's expression was impassive as she replied, "I'm busy cleaning the vegetables. Go and invite them in, then hurry upand come back to start cooking."

"| see," Nelson nodded and said. "I'll be in charge; you can help me."

Rosalie didn't respond to him. She was behaving incredibly indifferent. Nelson knew that she could not put down her ego.He did not force her to either.

Nelson went out quickly and saw Jensen, who pushed the door open and came in. Alice followed from behind.

"You're back?" Nelson greeted with a smile.

"Dad." Jensen stood at the door. He didn't see Rosalie, but when he saw Nelson's smile, he felt warmth. "We're back!""Welcome, Alice," Nelson said smilingly.

Alice was still a little cautious. This was her second time meeting Nelson, but she still felt a little nervous and reserved."Dad," Alice called out softly.

Nelson was stunned for a moment, and then his smile grew bigger.

He looked at Alice and gave her a warm smile. "Okay, hurry up and come in. Move your things into your room first.""Okay." Jensen nodded.

Alice did not see Rosalie. She stretched out her head to look around the house. When she did not see anyone, she asked, "Dad,where's Mom?"

Nelson didn't expect Alice to be so polite that she would ask about someone whom she hadn't met yet.He took a look at Jensen calmly and met his gaze.

Jensen was a little ashamed. He had felt relieved when he didn't see Rosalie, who loved to make trouble. However, Alice hadtaken the initiative to ask. It could be seen that Alice was really kind.

"She's cleaning the vegetables in the kitchen," Nelson explained. "We're preparing a good meal for you two. You should unpackyour things first. You must be hungry. I'll hurry up and go cook with your mother."

Since Alice hadn't said hello to Rosalie after coming in, she was afraid of making a bad impression. Thus, she said to Nelson,"Dad, I'd better say hello to Mom first."

As she said that, she looked at Jensen. "Jensen, let's go to the kitchen and say hello to Mom, and then we can deal with ourthings. What do you say?”

At first, Jensen wanted to stop her, but when he saw Alice's slightly tense and restrained smile, he could only agree. "Okay, let'sgo and greet her." Seeing Alice's courtesy made Nelson feel that she was quite sensible. He shouted toward the kitchen,"Rosalie, the children are back."

Rosalie had long since heard the commotion outside. She had also heard the conversation between the three. She stood in thekitchen in a daze and didn't move for a long time.

It was not until Jensen and Alice appeared in the doorway that she came back to her senses, and her expression returned to anindifferent one.

Jensen saw that she was in the kitchen with a poker face, so he took one step ahead to block Alice's sight.

However, Alice had already pushed Jensen aside. She came out from behind and stood in the doorway. Looking at Rosalie, shespoke kindly, "Mom, we're back!"

"Okay," Rosalie responded coldly. She glanced at them and said, "Go and unpack your things."

"Okay. Dad said that you bought us a new bed. Thank you so much. You must have spent quite a sum," Alice repeated what shehad heard from Jensen's phone call earlier while they were on the way here. "Thank you!"

This kind gesture made her feel that Rosalie truly wanted to accept her.

“How did you know?" Rosalie's gaze turned sharp as soon as she heard the news.

Alice was stunned and replied frankly, "Dad said so when he called Jensen."

Rosalie's gaze turned even colder. She glanced at Jensen and Alice and said, "You guys should get to your room first."novelbin

But Rosalie's face had suddenly turned frigid. What was going on?

Alice could only smile awkwardly. "Okay, Mom. We will unpack our things first and then we'll come back to help later."Rosalie didn't say anything. She looked at Jensen icily, with obvious resentment in her eyes.

As a policeman, Jensen naturally understood the meaning of Rosalie's cold gaze.

He smiled at Rosalie and said, "Mom, I'll be going back to my room with Alice then."

After that, he didn't give Rosalie any time to answer and left quickly.

Seeing that Jensen was hiding like a mouse who had seen a cat, she felt very upset. Frustrated, Rosalie threw the vegetables onthe ground.

Meanwhile, the couple returned to the room.

"It's not your fault. My mother is a little sensitive, and you'll get it in time. In any case, we won't stay here for too long. We will finda chance to move out."
