Chapter 577

Maxim suddenly froze, looking at Charles who was standing about three meters away from him. His

eagle-like sharp eyes were full of hostility.

Charles was shocked by the piercing gaze and immediately explained. "Dad, we all heard you crying in

the room. Not only me, but even the servants heard you."

"Charles!"

Maxim lost his temper in an instant and bellowed loudly.

"Dad, don't be angry." Charles looked at Maxim and felt that he had to point it out. Otherwise, Maxim

would be deceiving himself. Hence, he continued, "You are crying because you regret driving Aunt

Marilyn out of the family."

Maxim was stunned and was frozen on the spot.

His lips trembled, but he didn't say a word for a long time.

Seeing that he was right about Maxim, Charles became more confident. "Dad, you regret it. What's

wrong with admitting it? No one will laugh at you if you admit that you're wrong. It's better than hiding in

this room alone and crying, isn't it?"

"Shut up!"

"Look at you!" Charles chuckled and added, "You simply refuse to admit it. Do you think it's so hard to

admit your regret?"

Maxim was a stubborn old man. He narrowed his eyes and glared coldly at Charles. His eyes were

indifferent and sharp.

"Don't think that I don't know what you are thinking."

"Dad, I only want Zachary's investment." Charles didn't hide his intention and replied, "I'm not doing thisnovelbin

for myself but for the whole Lowe family. Eva, Donald, the descendants of the Lowe family, as well as

your grandson and granddaughter, they still have to survive!"

"If you want to make money, just use your own effort!" Maxim berated in a booming voice, "You can't do

it on your own and yet you want to take advantage of a junior. You've gone too far."

"Dad, I won't agree with you. If I was selfish, I wouldn't have given up. You haven't taken care of the

family in so many years, nor have you been in the business world. That's why you don't know how

difficult it is to make money."

Charles spoke as though he had been wronged.

Maxim sneered, "What were you doing even if I knew about it? You've been squandering everything!"

"Dad, don't mention the past again." Charles said evasively, "It's meaningless to mention the past."

"Get the hell out of here!"

"Dad, I haven't finished." Charles continued, "You've done something wrong. You shouldn't have

robbed the ashes. I advise you to quickly send the ashes back for the harmony of the whole Lowe

family."

Maxim was so angered that his chest heavily heaved up and down. He then replied, "I won't let you

send the ashes back just because you want to take advantage of Zachary."

"I didn't mean you have to let me." Charles explained, "You should return it to Zachary, Dad, you're not

willing to part with Aunt Marilyn. We understand that. However, burying Aunt Marilyn in the ancestral

cemetery with Mom is a good thing. With one on your left and the other on your right, your two wives

will be serving you. You'll also have a companion when you go to heaven!"

"Get out!" Maxim roared angrily, "I'm not dead yet. If you want me to go to heaven, I won't go back

either!"

"Look, you're losing your temper again." Charles was not infuriated with Maxim's behavior, and his eyes

were full of helplessness. "I have called Eva and Donald, and they will be here soon. Let's talk later and

make a decision with a raise of our hands. You can see if everyone listens to you or listens to me."

"Son of a b*tch!" Maxim cursed and ordered, "Someone, get in here!"

Despite his shout, none of the servants came.

He widened his eyes and looked at Charles in shock. He frowned and asked, "Where are they? Where

are the servants?"

"I let them go downstairs." Charles explained, "You were crying, and I saw them muttering at the door.

Do you think they don't know? In fact, everyone has found out!"

Maxim was really shocked. He stared at Charles but couldn't say anything.

"Dad, I advise you to cooperate with us. Otherwise, Aunt Marilyn won't be able to rest in peace. You

have already done Aunt Marilyn wrong. If you don't let her rest in peace now, you are truly crossing the

line. Everyone will hate you! Then, your life will be meaningless."

Charles' words only fueled Maxim's anger. He gawked at the former and swore, "You're an unfilial son!"

"I'm genuinely doing this for your own good." Charles sighed and said patiently, "You should thank me.

You see, for you and for Aunt Marilyn, I gave up Mom's interests. What else do you have to hold on

to?"

Maxim sat feebly on the chair and gazed at the urn.

His eyes were full of loneliness.

When Maxim did not say anything, Charles thought that he had listened to his advice. Thus, he

continued to say, "If you don't like it, I will send it back for you."

Maxim completely ignored him.

Charles then took a step forward, wanting to reach out and grab the urn.

Just then, Maxim suddenly stretched out the crutch in his hand and hit Charles's hand.

In an instant, Charles gasped in pain at the heavy blow.

"D-Dad! Why did you hit me?"

"I'll beat you to death, you unfilial son!" Maxim stood up and hit him with his crutch again, saying, "You

shameless thing, I can't believe you would even take advantage of the ashes!"

"Dad, I'm doing this for everyone's good."

"Don't take yourself as a savior." Maxim rebuked in a fit of anger, "Let me ask you, if Zachary doesn't

give you any investment, you won't allow Marilyn's ashes to be buried in the ancestral tomb, will you?"

"That is of course." Charles answered honestly, "If he doesn't invest, I definitely won't agree!"

Maxim's brow furrowed. "The Lowe family's matter is not up to you to decide."

Charles looked into Maxim's eyes, feeling startled.

"What do you mean?"

"You should bear the consequences of the trouble you've caused. As for whether Marilyn's ashes will

be buried in the ancestral tomb or not, you have no say in it."

"Dad, let's find out who has the final say. I've made the decision and both Eva and Donald will support

me. As for you, you're already this old. What makes you think you can stop us?" Charles immediately

declared war on Maxim.

"How dare you!"

"Dad, it's time for you to rest." Charles reached out his hand again to hold the ashes.

Maxim's crutch swiftly landed on the back of his hand yet again.

Charles jumped up in pain.

"Dad!" He roared in frustration.

At this moment, the door was opened.

Then, Maxim's daughter and son came in. The latter both were in their mid 60s.

"Charles, what's going on?"

"We already heard both of you arguing even before entering!"

As soon as Charles saw his younger siblings, he immediately pointed to Maxim and said to them, "Our

father has gone crazy. He was confessing his love in front of Marilyn's ashes!"

"What?" Eva Lowe became irritated as soon as she heard his words. She scoffed, "It's been more than

50 years. Dad still can't forget about that woman?"
