Chapter 416
Alice was taken aback. She stared at Jensen and pursed her lips. She seemed a little reserved.
However, Alice snapped back to her senses quickly and put on her bathrobe.
Jensen walked over silently and carried her outside.
Jensen put her on the bed. He took a towel to dry her hair. A moment later, Alice noticed that he had
moved the first aid kit into the room earlier.
Both of them were quiet.
Jensen began to help her clean her wounds.
Jensen brushed aside her hair with his slender fingers before using a cotton swab to dab some alcohol
on the wounds gently.
Alice hissed out of pain.
Alice smiled bitterly in her heart. She had not shown any signs of pain when she was hit; at least she
did not seem weak. Instead, she inhaled sharply when the alcohol came in contact with her face.
Jensen froze and his careful hand trembled. He stared at her and comforted softly, "I will try to be more
gentle. It'll hurt a little when I disinfect your wounds. Yet if I don't clean it, there might be an infection."
"I'm fine." Alice shook her head and her face was still red and swollen. "I'm really okay. You don't have
to be so worried about me."
Jensen seemed more apologetic and guilty.
In truth, Alice could feel that he was trying to be gentle and careful. She sensed traces of remorse too.
She did not know what to say.
"Does it hurt?" Jensen asked softly.
Alice shook her head.
"It doesn't hurt anymore."
"Silly girl!" He rolled up the sleeves of Alice's bathrobe and spotted the bruises on her wrist. A pang of
pain hit him again and he started applying ointment on her bruises.
Jensen gently rubbed the ointment into her skin until it was absorbed. He put the ointment away and
wanted to speak.
Alice picked up the ice bag and applied it on her face.
Jensen stared at her and hesitated. He decided to ask tentatively again, "Can you tell me now?"
Alice was startled. She felt a surge of courage after noticing Jensen's sorrowful eyes.
"Jensen, teach me how to fight," Alice requested.
Jensen was taken aback and he met her eyes out of reflex.
Alice was also surprised by what she said.
She did not want to give up.
Alice felt that cowardice should not exist in her and Grace's lives.
Backing away without even trying was wrong. Besides, Jensen was so gentle and protective about her.
How could she let Jensen go?
After a long pause, Jensen regained himself from the shock and there was a pleasant surprise in
Jensen's eyes.
Immediately, he felt Alice's struggle and her determination.
He realized that he underestimated this girl's courage.
In the end, she did not break up with him.
She said that she wanted to learn how to fight.
Immense joy flowed through Jensen's heart.
It was like the warm sun and it lit up his dimmed heart. In the blink of an eye, his heart lit up.
"Alice." Jensen was elated and he called her name in a hoarse voice.
"I've decided," Alice added, "Well, I'll be frank. Jensen, I really wanted to break up with you just now."
His eyes narrowed.
Alice threw the ice bag aside and held up her hands. She explained emotionally, "I don't want to
anymore. I know that it's not your fault and you're a good guy. You're a good officer too, so you
shouldn't be threatened like this. I shouldn't leave you too."
"Alice." Jensen was overjoyed when he heard her animated explanation. This silly girl really had a
heart of gold.
"Let me finish." Alice sat with her legs crossed on the bed. She did not realize that her sitting posture
was a little inappropriate and exposed some parts of her body.
Jensen's eyes narrowed. He did not glance at her legs but fixated his gaze on her face.
"Jensen, today I was abducted by a few men. One of them had a scar on his face. They were strong
and skilled at fighting, so I couldn't beat them."
Jensen frowned. He instantly understood when Alice mentioned a man with a scar.
"I know who it is." Jensen gritted his teeth and his eyes glowed dangerously. He would not let slide.
"He asked me to deliver a message to you. He wants you to show them some mercy and don't pick on
them."
Jensen tensed up. He was both heartbroken and remorseful when he stared at Alice.
"Alice, what do you think I should do?"
"Arrest all of them," Alice replied with a straight face, "Even if you let them go, nobody would be
grateful. They should pay the price for going against the law. Yet, can you be a little more careful?
Tackle them swiftly and don't give them the chance to regain themselves."
Jensen picked up the ice bag and nursed Alice's face. There was surprise in his eyes.
This girl was in sync with him.
Her words found their way into Jensen's heart.
Alice took the ice bag away and tossed it aside. She said, "There's no need to apply ice. I'm not that
weak. You should teach me how to fight. I want to learn how to defend myself."
Alice was eager to learn how to fight.
If she encountered any problems, she needed the ability to protect herself and not rely on others.
"Not now," Jensen replied, "I will teach you when you've recovered."
"No!" Alice shook her head and insisted, "Now."
"Are you sure you want to learn like this?" Jensen's gaze fell on the hem of her bathrobe and his eyes
darkened.
Alice was taken aback. She looked down and immediately flushed. "You! Where do you think you're
looking?"
"Change your clothes." Jensen restrained himself and added, "I'm going to make a phone call and
make some arrangements."
"Don't alert the enemy!" Alice exclaimed immediately.
Jensen chuckled, "Okay, don't worry."
Alice acted like an officer's woman.
Jensen got up and went out to make a call.
Alice changed into her clothes swiftly.
She picked up the phone and called Grace.
The phone was connected and Grace asked, "Alice, are you guys back home?"
"Sister, I want to talk to Heinz." Alice requested.
"Heinz?" She asked in surprise, "What do you want with him?" "Just tell him to call me," Alice replied.
"Alright." After hanging up the call, Grace turned to Heinz and said, "Alice wants to talk to you and she
asked you to call her."
"She wants to talk to me?" Heinz was very surprised. "Your sister hates me. There's definitely nothing
good going on."
"It doesn't seem like that," Grace added, "Hurry up and call her."
Heinz nodded and picked up his mobile phone. He referred to the number on Grace's mobile phone
and called Alice.
"Hey!" Alice's voice came from the other end of the phone. She sounded polite.
"You want to talk to me?" Heinz asked in a low voice.
"Yeah." Alice hesitated. She felt a little awkward and did not know how to continue.
"Just speak your mind if you want to humiliate me!" Heinz was prepared to not argue with his sister-in-
law.novelbin
"No, no!" Alice immediately denied it. "Heinz Jones, wait, no, you're my brother-in-law!"
