Chapter 391

The man continued to stare at her calmly and asked lightly, "Keep it? Are you planning to leave it like

that and not use it?"

Indeed, that was what Grace Smith was thinking.

She forced a smile and lowered her eyes uneasily.

Heinz Jones reached out to lift her chin gently with his slender fingers.

Grace was forced to raise her head to meet his eyes.

She then asked, "What are you doing?"

Heinz's thin lips were pressed together into a line while his eyes were like the deep sea, calming and

mysterious.

Grace was a little nervous as she stared into his eyes. She whispered, "I will spend your money,

alright? Don't look at me like that."

His gaze made her panic.

The man's lips curled and he softened his gaze.

He approached Grace until he was about five centimeters away from her face. He then studied her

closely.

Grace was more anxious than ever. He was so close to her that she almost crossed her eyes.

Grace said in a low voice, "Hurry up and start the car. Let's go back."

Heinz continued to stare at her calmly.

He held her chin with his fingers as if he did not hear her.

Grace placed her small hand on his wrist and tried to pull his grip away.

However, he immediately pinched her chin gently, indicating that he would not let go.

He did not speak, but he was showing his intention with his behavior. He was so overbearing that she

did not know how to react.

Was he going to put what he said at the store into practice?

As expected, he leaned over carefully and pressed his lips against hers.

Grace froze.

They were at the parking lot.

However, Mr. Jones had no intention of letting her go. He could not care less about where they were.

He held her face gently as though he was holding the most beautiful porcelain doll in the world and

kissed her.

Grace's heart was tingling because of his gentle movements. It felt as though someone had just taken

a brush and stroke her delicately with it.

His movements were gentle and loving.

She felt that his attitude had changed.

He was really gentle with her after they made peace with each other.

The tenderness that he showed was sincere from the bottom of his heart.novelbin

She felt a little uncomfortable but the man seemed to be very patient. He did not let Grace go until he

heard her whimper. He then lowered his head to approach her ear.

The sound of his breathing made Grace stiff and she dared not breathe.

"Grace, I won't let you go. I will never let you go no matter what," He whispered in her ear as if he was

making a vow. His promise was unyielding and overbearing.

Grace was stunned and she nodded.

Only then did he return to his own seat and started the engine.

On the way, Grace was very quiet and her face was burning. She was too embarrassed to look at him.

Her lips were swollen and there was a sharp pain whenever she moved.

Heinz's gaze was fixated on the road. He seemed to be suppressing himself and his feelings were

reserved.

They were about to get home when Grace finally calmed down and asked, "Is Mr. Lawson getting

better?"

"He is awake," Heinz continued, "His condition should be stable now. He was going to be transferred to

the general ward when I visited him."

"That's great," Grace heaved a sigh of relief and added, "I'm glad that he's better. It should be a load off

your mind."

Heinz's hand on the steering wheel froze and he turned to look at Grace solemnly.

"Grace!"

He wanted to speak but he decided against it on second thought.

"Huh?" Grace raised her eyebrows and asked, "What's wrong?"

Heinz pursed his lips and he fell into silence again.

He seemed to have something to say but he eventually swallowed his words back.

A trace of sorrow and annoyance appeared between his eyebrows.

He searched for something with his hand.

Grace asked softly, "What's wrong with you? Why couldn't you just tell me what's going on?"

"I need a cigarette," He uttered, "Can I?"

"Of course," Grace burst into laughter and added, "Did you bite back your words because you felt

embarrassed for wanting to smoke?"

Heinz froze for a moment and nodded.

He still could not tell her.

He tried mustering up his courage several times but he had no idea how to start.

He felt that he could never do it if he was in Grace's shoes.

How could he ask Grace to accept Jodie's parents?

It was unlikely for her to accept it even if he had given his heart to her.

Therefore, he dared not mention it.

He was afraid of losing Grace.

After lighting up a cigarette, he opened the window and inhaled the nicotine sharply. His annoyance

was suppressed.

Grace glanced at him but she did not read too much into it. She reminded him, "I know that it's not easy

to quit smoking but you'd better think twice and consider quitting it for the sake of your health."

He gave a wry smile and replied, "It's indeed a little hard."

"You could give it a try," Grace encouraged, "Smoking brings nothing but harm."

"Okay!"

"When did you start smoking?" Grace asked. Judging from his skillful manner, it seemed that he had

been smoking for a long time.

Heinz replied, "Six and a half years."

"Oh, it's been that long?" Grace continued, "Half a year before we met each other?"

"Yeah," Heinz nodded.

Grace chuckled, "Why didn't you pick up some good habits instead of smoking then?"

Heinz was taken aback and pondered about it. Why did he smoke?

It was hard to answer.

Grace noticed his silence and asked, "Can't you remember?"

Heinz shook his head and explained, "No, that's not the case. It's just been too long and I can't recall it

so suddenly. I think that I bumped into some troubles back then and I was annoyed. I tried smoking for

fun but I was addicted to it after that." "Some troubles?" Grace was a little surprised and exclaimed,

"What kind of trouble?"

Heinz hesitated for a moment and he could not seem to recall it. Hethen replied, "I forgot."

"You should stop smoking," Grace pointed out. She stared at the road in front of them and realized that

the car had just entered Emerald Apartment. She continued, "I heard that smoking lowers sperm

count!"

Screech!

There was a sharp braking sound. Heinz slammed on the brakes and stared at Grace in disbelief. He

asked, "What, what did you say?"

Grace was a little embarrassed. She turned to stare at Heinz, who happened to be looking at her.

There was a faint tobacco smell between his breath, coated with his masculine charm and qualities.

"Well, it's the truth!" Grace muttered, "Are you happy with just having one child? Don't you want to have

another child?"

Heinz's eyes lit up and his gaze was fixed at Grace. He answered, "Of course. I want you to bear me a

lot of children."

However, Grace needed to take care of her health.

Grace glanced at him and felt very embarrassed. She explained, "Well, that's not what I meant. It

doesn't have to be me. Other women could bear your child too. Well, provided that you're in good

health. However, if you keep smoking, you'll..."

Grace trailed off because she felt that it was too awkward to continue after being stared at by Heinz.

Heinz flashed a grim smile and answered, "Hmmm... Since smoking will lower my sperm count. Alright

then. I'll try my best to quit!"
